Anything involving the aircraft just looks awesome, like the Heinkel on the bombing run. But man, infantry is this game's weakpoint for sure. I mean it looks like two different games, a state of the art flight sim and then medal of honor '99.
Yeah, I like the Infantry combat in the game but then the game suddenly got hit with invisible infantry bug and glitching messiness. It ruined Infantry combat for me so I hardly ever play that facet of the game anymore.
Now it pales in comparison to Red Orcestra and even Medal of Honor I think that the Infantry combat in WW2OL shines sometimes but the shine comes from the total game not the individual facets of it.
Kinda what they needed a while back, I would of thought if they'd done some buzzcam footage of big battles and ran a competition to make a trailer a while back it would of been good but it does the job.
A little bit of a mess up at 0:52 though, french LMG gets multi hits on ei and he doesn't drop. He would of likely dropped a second later due to lag kill (but was cut out) so looks a bit bad there. Would of also thought it would of been better to have strafing runs during a real attack rather than strafing some AI Diest. Also where was the allied/axis armour column? Would of thought that would be a hot selling point.
Yeah, the air part is some of the best (and most unique). Why I was sad when they removed some of the zoom off the French 25mm AAA. You got such good visuals when you hit enemy planes.
Bit of the same problem with tank optics. If you engaged at the longer ranges you were fighting square blocks. A lot of the cool damage modeling we got later in WWIIOLs life got lost in the combat ranges. One of the reasons I loved early tech and the Pak 35, could see every track you blew off. Then RDP got fast fowarded so much that lasted about a day heh.
That was pretty sweet. Shame they didn't included the awesome aspects you encounter like armor columns or bombers + escorts getting jumped by interceptors or stuka raids.
I cant stand the air combat side of WWIIOL. I always thought it was clunky and unfinished, but I was spoiled by Targetware's flight sims, and games that actually made a deep flight model first and then put in pretty.

looks bad to me- not my cup at all and they delete comments in youtube. Says alot about this.
Im maybe biased on this a little bit but for me it looks like this game suits perfect those guys who were to insane for the military or some vets that didnt get the chance to shoot somebody down. Not my cup of tea.
Originally posted by pittpete I think they have plans for a few more trailers in the future.
If they have any sense they will start doing weekly highlights. Sunday is still the most active day I think; film as much as possible during that period, do some editing and put out a video every Wednesday. Some kind of schedule like that.

It looks bad in several areas but it's so much better than their really old trailer so I don't feel like saying much. Maybe they'll get it through their heads that there are powerful and free video hosting sites out there; it's not 1998 where you need to buy magazine/TV ads to get your product out there.
The problem is that it's sort of misrepresented. There are a lot of skeptics out there now and I think that what they should do is just get a good buzzard cam, get someone with mic recording a squad's TS and follow them on an operation or something. Of course they wouldn't use the buzzard to cheat; they would just get the video and add the teamspeak comms later. I don't even know if this is possible anymore because all of the big squads have left the game.
What got me back playing Eve Online was watching a corporation get a fleet togther and go hunting. It wasn't really a "trailer" just something that showed gameplay and community.
Wow....posts I make here now are disappearing with out a warning or anything. I wonder who XOOM is giving a reach around here to at mmorpg.com to have them behave like they do at the CRS forums?

I'm a gameplay before graphics guy I really am, but looking at that trailer wants me to get out my MC Hammer album, it looks so dated now, I really hope a new engine is on it's way
Interesting point ref the light machine guns is the bren gun (as depicted) I think had half the rate of fire of its axis game equivalent...might explain things.

Great trailer.
Player numbers seem to be on the up too...
My opinion, and yes I've played it on and off since launch is that it is still a great game.
