Is it common to have a thread deleted?

I was a first time poster, and I wrote what I thought to be a decent post. I am NOT a fanboy of EQ, but I was simply stating (with quotes to back me) how I felt these guys were obviously playing WoW down dramatically.  I, on the other hand, am not a fanboy, as I've just jumped into the entire world of both WoW and EQ2.

But after reading through the forum in general, and seeing the horrid posts, topics, grammar, attitude, and language--I don't understand why MY post would have been deleted so quickly. Pretty lame if you ask me...I've been gaming since the early 80's and I'm a CG Illustrator--I feel my opinion is valid.

Perhaps it was mearly moved--but I looked all over and couldn't find it.
