All this mumbo jumbo lately of WoW being the best, but then someone will argue and say EQ2 is the best and some knob will jump in and say Nexus:Kingdom of the Winds is best ~(www.nexustk.com go there and point and laugh and send mocking e-mails to the staff. please.) and the rest say FFXI.
so here i am, wondering to myself... which is the best? why is it the best? and which game should be getting my monthly money. i'm sick of sitting on the fence. can ya'll help me out? and yea, i'm considering ONE of the following. EQ2, FFXI, and WoW.
thx

Well, since all three of them are good games, it's your descision. Everyone has their own opinion, so it's not what they like, it's what you like. I'll give you my views on these games, but remember, they are my opinions and they are most likely not going to be the way you may feel.
EQII... I have yet to play this game. So I can't really help you out with this one...
WoW... I played this game for around 5 months and grew tired of it. It was a fun game but not nearly enough to keep me playing in the long run. This is one of those mmorpgs for the casual gamer. Log on for 30 minutes or so and still manage to get something done and have fun while doing it. Not really my type of game, but still fun.
FFXI... Now this is where I belong. I've been playing FFXI for nearly 2 years now and I'm still having a great time. Good graphics, great fun, and a nice community are what keep me coming back to this one. Of course there's always the occasional asshole, but for the most part, the communitys great and I always look foward to logging on and playing with old allies, or making new ones as well. Clear, clean, graphics and great scenery adds to the experience of FFXI. Sometimes I'll just sit and admire the beauty of the world. But, I have to say, the main part of the game that keeps me coming back for more is the sheer fun factor. With a simple battle system which is good for newbies and experienced gamers alike, it's always fun to go out and fight. Farming for new equipment, or just going out to xp, it's always enthralling to battle in the world of Vana'diel.
Sorry I kind of skimped on the info, but I'm sort of in hurry right now. Hope it helped and have fun with which ever game you choose.

Which FF Character Are You?
I know it can be hard to decide which mmo to spend your money on seeing that there are litterally hundreds of them! Keep in mind that most mmorpg's are fairly similar to one another, and the differences can be very small if anything at all.
I've played many mmo's including the three you listed, and in my opinion I would put my money into Final Fantasy XI. When I think about why I would, it's probably because I like the idea of the Final Fantasy world and the story that is involved with it.
Just read about the three of them and decide which one looks the most interesting to you. There is no sense in playing and paying for a game because I or anyone else told you too. All three of those games are good games, but pick the one you think looks like the most fun, then your sure to get your moneys worth
Final Fantasy XI is good, but if your going to play this type of game, Everquest 2 is the way to go. The customization is better, the battling is better, and the staff runs events. I know you probably have your mind set on FFXI, which is ok, because it is a good game. But I would recommend EQ2 if your the kind of player that likes these games.
World of Warcraft is my personal favorite though, PVP for those who want it, PVE for those who dont, and the avatars are more customizeable than FFXI's (EQ2 whens in the customization category though).
The quests are great in EQ2 and WoW, but are a chore in FFXI. The jobs in FFXI outmatch every job in WoW and EQ2, they are very creative. The jobs are the only strongpoint in this game, compared to EQ2 and WoW. The armor is very class specific so you will usually end up looking like everyone else. Also, the $1.00 per additiaonal character is rediculous, so in the end, with 3 characters (This is probably the average amount you would want in this game) you are already paying the same price for Everquest 2 and WoW. Also, the mounts arent permanent in this game, you rent them, and rent again. The currency is hard to come by too, and airships require you to be rank 4 (very hard to get) to ride. Travel is hard also because monsters iwll aggro you trying to get to your destination. There is no lag in this game whatsoever though. WoW is terrible about this, and EQ2 is doing good so far on the lag.
So, Id go with EQ2 if your a PVE fan, WoW if your for PVP, and FFXI if your a PVE Final Fantasy Fan (but dont get me wrong, it is good, its just not nearly as good as EQ2 or WoW, I dont know how many times I can say this but it is true IMO)
