Camelot Unchained Fanpage (Simply Gaming)

Since I personally absolutely believe in this project I´m trying to do my part in building the community. So far I haven´t seen any specific fanpage for Camelot Unchained, except a few forums here and there. So at least I´ll want to give it a shot helping to spread the word and form a community, that will be able to celebrate a succesful kickstarter campaign together.

Im fully aware of the mediocre webdesign presented up til now and I can assure you, that I´m going to improve it a lot in the following weeks. The reason why I went online with the site at this state is because of the upcoming kickstarter campaign in march.

Getting the news section and forum online had priority first and since I just started today "looks" had to wait a while. Every single backer, I can help to get right away, is worth my work here, so cut me some slack for now - I won´t leave it that way, but I did want to help spreading the news as soon as possible

Having been able to set up forum and news-section yesterday I´m currently working on the design of the website and template of the forum.

Since I´ve never been an artist myself, I was wondering if someone here, talented in designing an appropriate camelot-unchained header and a few smaller graphics, would be willing to help me build a central place for the community?

Being a nichegame I think its important to gather the troops as soon as possible and to undertake the major endeavor of keeping the folks together. After all - we need every backer we can get :-)

I´ve just uploaded an updated design and filled the craftingsection with all informations I could gather until now.

I´ll be going through Marks Blogs, Interviews and Postings regarding RvR and Housing next, while I of course still continue to work on the webdesign and forum-template too.

Thats not finished yet, so don´t worry. For now the page has sort of a 0.5 Version. Any help with some graphics would therefore still be much appreciated.

Will do my best to get any information out there gathered as soon as possible.

I was able to add several quotes from Mark about crafting and gather the first regarding housing. There still is only so much we know about this feature, but I´ll try not to miss anything Mark is releasing, so we have everything in one place.

I´ll be opening the sections regarding races, classes and rvr as soon as possible. Up to now there isn´t that much Mark did announce, but I will check everything I can find once more in case I did overlook something about this.

The past few days, with a lot of piano music from Ludovico Einaudi to keep me calm *g* - I have browsed through the following information channels and everything Mark wrote, to see what he did announce:

After several hours of cross-checking today I´m fairly comfortable saying, that regarding "Crafting", "Housing" and "RvR" there isn´t really much out there, that hasn´t been included on the page now. So check it out if you want everything in one place. I´ll do my best not to miss anything the upcoming days, weeks and hopefully months after the kickstarter was a success :-)

The sections regarding classes and races will be opened as soon as we know more than those 1-2 bits we have until now.

 

If i did miss anything after all or if someone does know another place where Mark is communicating with us - please, stick me a message. It would be much appreciated.

 

PS: Page design and forum template will be improved further, don´t worry.

I just updated the sections regarding crafting/housing and rvr. Similar to the news, every quote from Mark has his own entry now. Thats a lot easier to read and its programmed to show the last quotes first, so its easier for you guys to follow everything.

I´m currently working on some backgroundstuff, especially coding some scripts in PHP to minimize my work. Up to now every entry has been added in plain HTML, which was really annoying. But I didn´t want to wait for days before I got the site up and running. So now every new quote will create a new entry and that way its easy for you guys to see, whether or not there is something new in every section.

In addition I already laid the groundwork to add quotes from others stattmembers, so if someone else from CSE is starting to communicate with us, I can just throw those quotes into the sections as well, without any extra work.

Furthermore I´m going to start working on a FAQ, gathering the basic informations we already have been given scattered around different channels.

I´ll also start creating some more traditional informationsites for each section, as soon as we have enough facts. For now quotes from Mark are the only reasonable way to go, because its still too much of a vision to really gather facts and explain in detail for everyone how each section (crafting, housing etc) is going to be implemented.

I just included another section --> FAQ. There are already several answers to give a short summary of basic informations. Some of those have been asked on several occasions, so I´ll try to compile and update the FAQ according to demand.

I´ve got the mediasection up and running. We are still lacking any screenshots of course, but I did already include the videos.

Furthermore I did watch the live interview with Mark once again and extracted several quotes, especially regarding crafting and also some about classes and housing. So those can now be found in the right sections.

Thanks a lot, Mark. It´s always nice to feel appreciated for what you do. I´ll keep the site up and running, don´t worry. I think it´s absolutely worth supporting you and your team with this project. Hopefully I´ll be able to upload a better design soon -  still in need of some better graphics.

You just have to assure me never to file for any restraining order. Trying to follow every move and quote, I already feel like a stalker :-)

I have it bookmarked, I spend a lot of time over at the CU subreddit, CSE folks stop by there at times to interact or drop a nugget of information. At this early stage keeping the feelers out for new info is always handy.

Right now I´m trying to focus a bit more on the template of the forum and the design of the page. Most of the functional stuff is in place for now - so while keeping the informations up to date, its time to do something for the looks.

@Kuldebar, I appreciate the information. I already checked reddit, but I might have missed something. I´ll check comments on reddit once more.

I just uploaded a new design of the page. Since I find the artwork awesome myself, I have to say right away: Any credit goes to the team from CSE. Unfortunately I´m not the one, who designed that dragon. I´m just the one who stumbled across it and thought "OMG, thats perfect for my design, as if someone just made it for that" :-)

The design isn´t done, it will be improved further, but slowly I´m starting to feel like its actually something thats ok :-)

I´ve added several new quotes from the last days in almost all sections. I also opened the race section, since Mark talked a bit more about genders in some comments too.

We will be releasing a new and more professional design of the website soon. Still working on the last details, but I hope everything is done next week :-)

FINAL DESIGN ONLINE!

We worked hard the past days to get our new design online before the Kickstarter. We are glad, that we managed to finish it in time and we really hope you like it.

There will, of course, be a lot more adjusting, tweaking and improving the next days and weeks, but right now, it is finally version 1.0

Additional pictures will be added and over the next days I´m going over everything Mark and his team did post the last couple of days to make sure I didn´t miss something, while working on the page.

"TheCure" is the name of a customized template we are using currently. The board-layout is one of the next things we are going to change. For now we wanted to focus on the website, so we finally could release version 1.0.

Since 1.0 is online, we can work on the forum now, as well as continue to improve some of the website features :-)

I was wondering, if anyone out there has any suggestions to improve the website?! After all this is meant to be a main hub for the community, so its you guys we want to satisfy and keep up to date. Right now we are working on:

1) A new template for our forums

2) Informationsites with a summary of every section for those lacking the time or interest to read every single comment we gathered from Mark ans his team

3) Minor design updates like additional pictures etc

If you got any suggestions at all, please let us know and we will consider whether or not it is possible to include

I enjoy my stay there and have already registered to the forum.

I do miss nothing there, all informations which someone can get are in it, and the site looks great.

An offical link from CSE to the first fanpage would be nice *wink @ Mark*
