It's just the newb island. Theirs some quests and a variety of mobs to fight. The trial is meant to get a basic feel for the different races and classes. I would say you would be able to get the basics down. Worth a try if you're interested just don't expect the whole game.
In my opinion the noob island just isn't enough to get a full enough experience of the game. I know they probably want to protect their subscribers from the no paying newcomers, but without PvP how much harm can they really do? I've read many customer reviews of the game and they seem to be negative and I don't feel like paying all that money for a boring fedex-style mission game. And with no PvP I couldn't stand to play this game anywayz. I also heard you can't attack enemy if they come on you terrain, so the battle between good and evil is pretty much pointless.
The main reason it's the Isle is beacause if they offered the entore game it would be a huge download. Not many people would be willing to do it.
If you haven't played it then how do you know if it's a "fed-ex style mission game." Unless that's how you feel affter playing it , then how would you know?
Pvp is all about taste. I've said countless times I'd rather have no pvp than bad pvp. But it really doesn't matter as they are going to add pvp anyways.
If youre able to make assumptions about a game wihout playing the actula game then maybe it's better you don't play.
Actually it is a huge dowload. The install file is only about 16 megs, but then you have to dowmlaod a little over 2 gigs of patch files the first time you try to play. Not very well thought out . . .
I don't want to write this, and you don't want to read it. But now it's too late for both of us.
The install size was 3 gigs to me and the patches werent that bad for the first set....just like any mmorpg. It only took around 20 minutes to get it fully set up

I think the trial is a necessity for this game. If you rush through it, you'll be behind when you enter the real world, so its much better just to max out your xp in combat and tradeskills. Also maxing out your armor is a good idea too. Then when you get to Qeynos or Freeport, you can easily gain citizenship, and complete all the other quests.
What I don't like is that it doesn't really give you enough of what the game will be like. I don't know how to explain it, but it just needs more.

Actually the trial is about a 2gig DL. But if it was the entire game it'd be around 7 gig.
Do you honestly want to pull a 7 gigabyte download to play a trial?
I don't.
