No - his whole posting has the only reason to transport negativity and badmouth anything.

The game is far from being brainless - if anything its the opposite.
The controls are smooth WASD controls and the latest patch brought more control modes.
    Etc...

Maybe so, but that doesn't invalidate any of his points

It is mindless PvP; the only brain cells you ever used in MWO was in loading out your mech to begin with, and PGI has done their level best to eliminate any kind of meaningful customization. Sure, you CAN loadout something different than what everyone else runs, but then you will suck and die.

I got permabanned last month for posting the text from SARNA that Garth excised in his argument that MWO ECM worked the same as in TT, which proved him wrong, so I haven't seen it, but let me tell you what would have been an improvement from my perspective:

First of all, the original configuration was anything but "smooth." The throttle was impossible to adjust with any kind of precision, the weapon grouping mechanic was idiotic, and while the original shut down mechanic was better than the new one, it was really stupid, too.

So, what did they do? Can you use number keys for throttle? Can you rearrange weapons groups in the list? Can you reliably startup and shutdown again? Have they removed the torso-look delay? Can you pick either your mech or your map so as to customize for whichever planet you are on?

I doubt it; I spent too long dealing with the bunch of misanthropic poltroons at PGI to have any faith in their ability to competently perform any task more difficult than tying their shoes, and I would double check the shoes.

Even in beta it was easy to see which way this game would go, and it is too bad really. A lot of the cash shop mechs are simply better, which is P2W, despite what anyone says. Add to that the problems with imbalances, especially ECM, and throw in the fact that the game is 100% PvP and it clearly not the mechwarrior/battletech game most fans would want. It is just a mech shooter, and not a very good one at that. It is World of Tanks in mechs only 10% as good, and that game is pay to win as well. Anyway MWO fails as good battletech game and and MMO. And all that is a shame.

Well... The two best games in the whole Mechwarrior franchise wer Mechwarrior Mercenaries and Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries. Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries is used to this day as a great mechwarrior multiplayer. Both made by Fasa Interactive. The Microsoft mechwarrior games were the Mech Assault games on X Box. So no... Microsoft would NOT have made a better MWO. Original Fasa Interactive might have, if they had not been eaten by Microsoft and cleaned of their good people, then spit out.

This... compared to MW4: mercs... is nothing. it is a sad attempt at mechwarrior. I am guessing they have looked more at the Mech centre arcades when they built this, than the popular game franchise which, might be a mistake because... how many mech centres exist nowadays? Yet MW4: Mercs still lives.

I am core fan of mechwarrior PnP, still have all the original boxes of  all Mechwarrior games, all Mechcommander, and the Battletech RPGs and.... I can not be bothered to enter this one because it does not feel like a real mechwarrior game, just a bad first person shooter with mech clothing. And bad first person shooters... we have played enough of those the last two decades.

I agree. I would also personally add MechCommander 2 to the list, especially with the fan made Mechlab 1.5 patch or whatever it was. I played the hell out of that game.

Really! You can use the number pad to set your throttle now.

WASD works different by Default now as movement stops when you release the W or S key.

I have never enocuntered a "look" delay.

You can set your Weapongroups in the offline testing mode of the game - UI2.0 will make it a Mechlab feature.

You have now a Arm to Torso reticle lock.

Imho random maps are better but map preselection is part of the upcoming CW.

Yeah - ECM is shit, they know its shit and changes are evaluated.

There is atm not a single P2W Mech in the game - not a single "Hero Mech" has a better weaponload than the Custom Mechs.
It may be that you like one of the Hero Mechs better but that is not P2W, that is personal taste.
