in Dark Age of Camelot

I was going to try that 14 day trial offer that's on MMORPG.com now, but it still requests a CD key...

Any help? Or does the "free 14 day trial" = "you can download the game and see the opening, and you DO get 14 free days...if you buy the game first"?

    Go to http://www.darkageofcamelot.com/downloads/

    It will give you a CD key and then give a link to mmorpg.com

    It is free. You pay nothing. You just need a CC to verify that you have not made multiple accounts.

    Regardless of it being free the CC trials suck. DAOC should change it to no cc or something. Let the kiddies play too i say.

    Debit card works also and that's a card that each person can get.. I think.

    So you expect them to pay for bandwidth of the downloads plus any other fees.  Then allow them to use bandwidth that DAOC has to pay for again for them to play, when they will never subscribe?

    What's the point?  They are a buisness that is trying to increase subscribers in order to make money.  Giving the product away to people who cannot or will not pay to play it is a waste of money. 

    Last, I am glad the kiddies cannot play.  I like the community and the last thing I want is for it to be ruined by a bunch of kids running around begging.  One of the millions of things I hated about EQ.

    WOW lol AGAIN just set it up, make a toon, relog cancel and do your 14 day thing, I would hate to see DAoC not do the CC thing. as it would make it worse then AO, as a player of 3 years the last thing I want is for unruley people to constantly spam free accounts to just bother those of us that actually like the game, and are willing to offer payment to a provider that gives it to us, and YES the trial IS FREE just dont be silly and lazy, if you think you wont like it 1=dont start, 2=as I said start-make toon-cancel-play 14 days - you like.. reset up payment simple as that.

    Without a cc what is stopping people from getting the 14 day and then powerleveling that char to 50 then sell it on ebay.  It is true it is a company for profit not charity.

    Is it normal, that i only can play on Test servers (Hector and Pendragon) in the 14-day trial?!

    You should have two clients.  One will say something like DAOC - Shrouded Isles and the other will say that and then say "test."  Do not use the one that says test use the other one.
