Well... a thief, but the only MMORPG ive played where you can really be an effective thief was UO. Also some of those choices arent even classes, theyre races.
I will most likely like it. Strong dont mean easy however, do not confuse both. A pick a versatile warrior, since they are usually the strongest characters IMO. But like I said, the power or group desireness of the class matter a lot more then the particuliar class, I will change until I find what I want(in CoH either a regen and spike, or a bubbler, would be my 2 favorite choice, no question asked there, while in EQ, a cleric is the best choice at GoD era).

I don't like classes at all as they are FAR too restrictive for roleplay games. As far as I am concerned, any mmorpg that still forces classes on the player are worthless.
I like a fighter/caster hybrid - like DAOC's friar or valewalker. I like to go solo, so it's important to have a character that can hold its own and not suffer from too much downtime. I don't like characters that tend to get pigeonholed in groups - just heal, just pull, just buff/debuff, and get out of the way!

I agree... but some games must do that. You don't want to be playing DAoC and see everyone being the same exact "template." If you have played AC1, you know what I mean. For years, there's always been the "flavor of the month" and about 10% of people or more each month would re-roll and create the "new, best thing." It resulted in everyone being the same 4 classes, which is the same today. I do not necessarily LIKE classes, but it enforces order. In DAoC, you pretty much have an even distribution of classes which makes RvR more fun since you aren't fighting the same exact character every time. I'm not really sure about SWG anymore, but when I played when it was released, almost everyone was going for Teras Kasi Master. Even though classes may restrict some games, they are often the best way to go.
I always loved the tamer in UO... you could tame any creature, and it'd get stronger as long as it survived and didn't die... I liked that aspect, it was like hardcore in Diablo 2 except you're not losing your main character, just a pet...
I also loved the abyss shard they had up for awhile where they allowd the players to PLAY AS monsters... it was so popular that the shard crashed several times, and they took it down never to bring it back up again. I don't know why if it was so popular that they'd do that... but oh well.
Then the dragon in horizons, and the jedi in SWG are neat classes if you can withstand the huge level grind to get it, but that's why I didn't play these games too long... and quit fairly quickly. Everyone wanted to be these two so they had to keep upping the exp requirement, etc...
For stealthers I would have to say shadowbane has the best stealther pvp I've played... it's great backstabbing someone in that game.
My favorite class would be wizard. The reason is the major nukes. Wizards in Everquest were unbelievable because of the rooting ablility and that it didnt break. On Everquest Online Adventures: Frontiers The root breaks and the wizards have paper for hitpoints. Although they do get the best ports of all classes in the game and the very best nukes.
Shadowknights and Paladins are also pretty fun because of the tanking and other spells they get. A paladin is good for serving as a secondary healer and the shadowknights with the blood abilities and harmtouch, and pain touch ability lines. Shadowknights are like mini-casters and the two classes are very good in pvp combat.
Also all of the petters, mages, enchanters, and necromancers because they are great farmers and you can also solo a lot of mobs.
I like to play Paladain like characters but since most of the games i play have no real variety in God/Dieties to chose from It really never happens... Oh well I will have to stick to my PNP AD&D characters LOL. And In most games I play the environment and the players would make me HAVE to kill all the evil doers ( KS'ers, Drop stealer's etc. ) LOL
As far as classes go, I had a sneaky liking for the craft-oriented classes from Anarchy Online. But they weren't really practical for other aspects of the game, and I always found getting materials together to be nigh-on impossible. Must actually try the trial version, and see if that's improved.
Otherwise, it's wizards as far as I can go, by choice, and usually a fighter-mage hybrid out of necessity.
what I ment by shapeshifter was something more like a druid in WoW... something that can change into a different creature and blend in with other animals... a new type of stealth.

Archers = awesome. Don't know why, but I always seem to choose the archer over all other classes... I guess I like the ability to strike first...

As long as the class is either:
- Extremely desired.
OR
- STRONG.

If all else in life fails you, buy a vowel.
I prefer a necromancer/shadowknight style of class, so I voted Vampyre since that is the closest analogy.
"A versatile warrior (paladin, or death knight)" --Was one of the choices...
As for me, rogue all the way. Rogues do it from behind.

But it's the caster edge of the class I prefer, not the warrior class. Hence why I did not select that option.
i Would have Choose Monk (MA class if you prefer) but there was None close to it in the Choice! so ill go for Stealth Assasin!
I choose Paladin/Death Knight class as they are more hardly and greater chance of surviving when soloing.
Mages are also cool, but they are really hard to level in the intial phase...
The Best thing about the future is that it comes only one day at a time.
