From what I've been reading, MJ said it's not going to be high end gfx to be able to fit (think he said 400) more people on screen. If it can hit RIFT level gfx (remember, it's not going to be publically released until 2015 so gfx quality is going to have a higher bar to reach by then), I'll be happy. Hopefully CSE will release the suggest minimum fillrates so we can plan on what gfx cards would suite our individual needs. I'll bet on ~10 GP/s - ~20GT/s (sub $100 gfx card) for minimum.

I would prefer a stylized approach and atmosphere with lower-poly, lower rez textures than most modern mmos. Kinda like WoW does but NOT that style. Ugh.
Performace is going to matter sooo much, and huge battles need to run smoothly. If they nail the art style, it can still look cool without all kinds of graphical bells and whistles.
It's not unreasonable to expect a certain level of graphic fidelity in MMORPGs but not hey shouldn't be held to single player or small scale multiplayer levels. It is also mor eimprotant that the game run smoothly enough on a broad range of PCs or your not gonna get a goood chance at a large user base.
That said however if a game looks too dated compared to other sectors of the industry it is gonna lose potential customers, however in this case I beleive some of it can be offset by the lower sub prices and the fact it's being independtantly developed and kickstarted will earn a certain amoutn fo leeway in most peopel's minds.
I think that WoW shows that it's not the size of the ship, but the motion of the ocean. If graphics really were the factor that kept gamers interested it wouldn't be nearly as popular as it is.
I'd much rather have outstanding gameplay any day of the week over graphics. Generally speaking, I will end up setting my graphics to medium or low anyway because I simply want to squeeze out the better framerates. Only time it gets cranked up is when developers do stupid stuff like tying critical aspects of the game (ie boss mechanics) to things that mimght only be available at the highest settings (ie particle effects).
If I can slide in another request as well, check out TERA or SWTOR for their UI customization elements. I'm probably in the minority, but I play on a bigger screen (42" plasma) vs your standard 23" or so monitor. So if I can't customize the UI elements I get frustrated with games where the quest givers are like whispering at me like,
You must help us, you're our only hope
Plus, sometimes the developers just get it wrong. Maybe I need a compass right in the middle of my screen because I have a horrible sense of direction, or maybe I need to place my debuffs somewhere more noticeable, or maybe the developer just got the UI all wrong (but that is almost never the case, I'm sure).

Well...
Easy example : WoW is quite ugly and still got some success.
There is a minimum level of expectation that I have for them. But that bar is pretty low.
The main thing I would care about for a RvR-only game would be how slick the gameplay is. You nail the gameplay and I'll go all in.
