    :/

There not too late, i mean PotBS is the only 3D mmo sailgame. A game that has no competition can take it's time.  And it's not a big company like WOW so i hope they are not gonna rush it i want a fully working bugfree version of this game. So ill wait.

I am gonna play this game anyway i like sailships i like cannons image And i already have joined a gr8 clan www.smzs.org

We'll see all the nay-sayers back on the band-wagon once it hits beta, believe me.
    Happens with every game.

In the meantime they can have fun with their generic, fantasy-themed carebear flavour-of-the-month game.... ::::27::

Not releasing it? Oh no ...with so many mmo clones this really caught my eye as being different. I particularly like the art style ...I cannot put my finger on it but it just appeals to me. Well I personally am hopeful that the original poster is wrong.

Well, if we're not going to release the game, does this mean I don't have to go to work tomorrow?

Don't put any stock in what the original poster has to say.  As you can see, he hasn't posted anything further in this thread since then image

This game will be released, have no fear.  And when it does it will put the rest of them to shame.

Define "out of date"...  Graphics may mean a lot to you, but most of us just want a game that's fun to play.  Plus most MMORPGS take 4-5 years to make, so there's really no point in honing in on one till beta is announced.

You know, what killed it for me was when they mentioned this game was for the "hardcore" and that you need to have broadband and the latest GPU to play the game.No thanks,I'll stick to my .hack//Fragment and DnL.

I agree with the point that gameplay is better than graphics, im just hopeing that the gameplay will be more varied than i image it will be, if that makes sence. How much divercity could u get out of a sailing/pirate game?

Yeah, all those other Pirate games are gonna kill this one. ::::03::

screw the graphics comment, this game is going to be badass even if the graphics are up to complete date.  UO was one of the best games of all time ( i know a bunch of you will disagree..pretrammel BTW) and it was 2d!! after 5 years of playing they finally put it into 3d but most people stayed to the original!  Also technology is so quick these days that graphics are a matter of months before they are updated in the next game.  It is impossible to develop a game where the graphics are completely up to date because by the time it is released, the next age of graphics are born.  There is no way to remedy this and people will have to get used to it.

Ive got two choices, run, or stay and fight...And I dont see no doors...

There's a reason this game won MMORPG's "Best Graphics at E3 2005" award... and it's likely not because the graphics are out of date. I'm not sure where this "graphics negativity" is coming from. Personally, I think it looks absolutely phenomenal. The water, the character models, and the ships themselves look stunning.

Are they the best thing... ever? Likely not. This is an MMO after all, which are not generally known for their competitive graphics when you hold them beside the likes of say - Half Life 2, or FEAR, or Battlefield 2. Still, they look pretty damn sweet.

The latest screenshots of this game, from Jan, are very good! Better than a lot of graphics on the market right now. I think the graphics will be fine:)

Yeah your right about launch, however after the devs have some time to work on it, and add swashbuckling and such, i think this game is gonna be a smash hit, especially because of its uniqueness.

Aye, way too many Pirates abound for this game to fail at all..........arrrrrrr

Also in EQ2, in those 5 years they put so much work into the graphics, the voice overs and all the other bells and whistles that made it look so nice, in the end they forgot to put the fun in :(

Gameplay has everything to do with the game, UO is still being played and the graphics are cheesy, The ones that are complaining are the ones that have to make a decision, are they going to keep paying for a grinder like WOW or EQ or SWG or are they going to drop it and go with Pirates. Then they find out that there computer is no longer uber :) and now they have to go out and buy a new system and get rid of the commodore 6400 they are using. The next complaint will be how come it's a non grinding game and stuff is instanced at times.

The reality is that us gamers suck.

    we are never hapy....ever.

we can ask for x features in Y games...and when the devs give it to use...we complain...

If the game released quick, everyone would complain that it should have stayed in developement longer...since they are taking theiry time, everyone will complain that its taking too long...

Look at 'Masters of Orion 3' ...the team put just about everything their fans said tey wanted in there....what a nightmare....the fans said it sucked...but its what they asked for...lol what does that tell ya :-D

PotBS will be out when its out, play something else until then....play inthe here and now...there are plenty of god games to keep us busy while we wait, even if they've nothing to do with grinding.::::40::
