Morrowind. My first time playing a completely open world game. I explored, I died, I followed awesome questlines, I built my own village in the snowy North, I wore awesome armor, I killed every member of the assassin's guild (unknowingly) to make their hideout my house.
It was a game that was filled with so much awesome, I couldn't handle it. Took me months to do all the exploring and eventually "beat the game". And I didn't start using magic until late in the game. Hack and slash, baby. As a previous poster said, nothing before or after has compared in my eyes.
Syndicate. Not the FPS from EA from a couple of years ago. I mean the original Bullfrog game that came out in the early 90's. Either that or Full Throttle.
There were so many good games it's hard to choose, but if I can choose only one I think it should be HOM&M 3, so many good memories form hot seat sessions.
