There was a time where any SWTOR News Topic (before development) would hit 100 replies in under 5 min.
I'm not really upset about it's failure anymore. I'm honestly more angry. There is nobody that will attempt a Star Wars MMO after what happened to the last two.
I'm sure someone will attempt another, at some point, after the new Star Wars movies start releasing in another year or two.
According to these forums every MMO sucks, don't take what people say here to your heart. Play what you like and enjoy.
Who do you think are more happy? people who are playing MMOS and enjoying themselves or those who come here daily to complain and tear down every game in existence .

Since it is F2P sub style pop figures don't mean much. It is more a case of earnings from cash shop and the sub option mode of gameing. F2P games frequently go quite high in numbers.
-EvE: because decisions matter in an immersive sandbox universe
- Each of the three Funcom MMOs: AO, AOC, TSW are all amazing and have a **SOUL**
- Star Wars Galaxies has been shut down and can not be played legally anymore.
Waiting for: Star Citizen, Elite, World of Darkness, Black Desert

There is alot of wisdom in your words and you are right, seems like everyone here complains. The perfect game just doesnt exist there will always be some flaws. Swtor did not fail in my opinion but its really hard to appease gamers nowadays.
agree, the biggest let down is no one will ever attempt to make a Star Wars MMO again, at least not in the next 10 years. There goes the biggest IP possible for a MMO, down the drain

And like you, there is really a lot of people who still play and enjoy the game and Cathar are coming after the expansion.
Well 2.4 million people bought the game and ~ 2 million people also quit, so they all went somewhere didn't they?
With those numbers, it does look like a big failure .. although fans are happy that some people still play, and cite that as some form of success.
While many MMO's suck .. some suck more than others.
If SWTOR stayed small as EA should have done, and targeted only a few hundred thousand fans who adored anything Star Wars (even if that means playing a bad game), all those other 2 million people wouldn't have felt ripped off, and this game would have generated much less hate.
EA should try something different with MMORPG's, because their Warhammer Online retention plan isn't working.

Recognize the voice? Yep sounds like Penny Arcade's Extra Credits.
I never understood why people complained of about paying for a game. How are Bioware/EA employee's expected to maintain the game and work for free? The people need to be paid for updating and regulating the game, $15 a month isnt really anything.
Can't wait for the new content.
Am a bit nervous of the server issues that'll inevitabily happen cause it is 'RELEASE DAY!'

Informing people about your thoughts and impressions is not a review, it's a blog.
Its a shame too, much of SWTOR was well made...it is by far the best leveling experiance in any MMO...but whoever gave the green light to release the game without a /roll command, needs their head examined. Thats just one of many little things they got wrong that are complete and utter mind boggling.....a loot treadmill (nothing wrong with that) with a master looter option, but no /roll command?....ugh...
What's so bad about the game, explain it to me? Also can you cite your sources from which you got your information about 2 million players quiting. I'm not saying your wrong I just dont remember reading that anywhere.
Disney will be making one, now that they own ALL rights to the IP.
I suspect it will be something akin to Clone Wars.
Who cares really though? Just a game.
Thats your point of view because there is really a lot of star wars fans who love and enjoy swtor everyday and disagree with you, at the end of the day they have a star war mmo who love and play, you dont.
Yes. But when you look at how many people are playing vs how much it costs to make / license a MMO...
Why does it matter? What does it have to do this the subject of this thread?
