As part of “Pardon our delay” apology here’s the first in a series of posts that draws directly from our Kickstarter project. This post covers all the reward tiers that are less than $300. Each tier has a “MJ Notes” which explains some of my thinking for the tier. BTW, one of the things to keep in mind is that these tiers can be added to as our Kickstarter progresses. 
Again, sorry for the delay but since we are now approved it’s safe to say we are going to launch the first week in April. I’ll have the official date shortly.

The “Living” Digital Manual is simply our continually updated manual but with a few twists which we’ll talk about down the road. As the guys on MMORPG/subreddit have noted, we have put in a lot of the suggestions for vanity-style items. Like many other tiers in our or other people’s Kickstarters, there are tiers that are available in limited amounts for a variety of reasons.

MJ Notes: This is the first of our true early adopter tiers. As you can see, it comes with a lot of upgrades from the $30 tier including extra sub time, early beta access, etc. The early adopter tiers are intended as rewards to the folks who have been following our progress closely and they can snag them quickly. I didn’t want to have too few of them either so the total number (5K) here can change before we launch. Some of these rewards also came from my chats on the various forums.
$55 Limit 10000 WARRIOR - DIGITAL ONLY You get all the NEW RECRUIT rewards + an ADDITIONAL 10 FOUNDER’S POINTS (20 total) + ONE DIGITAL COPY OF DRM-FREE SOUND TRACK + SPECIAL THANKS IN THE IN-GAME CREDITS + FOUNDER’S ICON for your crafter character(s) + ACCESS TO THE REALM-RESTRICTED FOUNDER’S CHAT + 1 EXTRA BETA INVITE (Beta 3) + 1 EXTRA CHARACTER SLOT. MJ Notes: As you can see, this tier isn’t quite as good as the tier before it but it’s still quite lush.
$75 No max I LOVE TCHOTCHKES - DIGITAL ONLY You get all the WARRIOR rewards + an ADDITIONAL 25 FOUNDER POINTS (45 total) + SPECIAL STARTER WEAPON (cosmetic and salvageable) + SPECIAL STARTER ARMOR (cosmetic and salvageable) + FOUNDER’S WALL PLAQUE to hang in your house + your BETA ACCESS IS UPGRADED TO BETA 1 and you receive a FOUNDER’S DISCOUNT on your sub rate to be no less than 5% per month. Estimated delivery of Beta 1 Access: February 2015.
MJ Notes: This tier introduces the starter weapon/armor that all backers get as part of their rewards. These items will be salvageable by crafters so that our backers can have some of the cosmetic perks that come with the items can be used on other items. $110 Limit 5000 YOUNG HERO - DIGITAL ONLY In some circles this is known as a “Digital Collector’s Edition” and it is a limited digital tier. MJ Notes: Another early adopter tier and this is one of my favorites. I really wanted to make our digital CE special for our backers. As many of our potential backers know, suggestions for the dyes are another one of the many items that came from the forums. With Alpha access, lots of included items and 55 FPs, I think this tier will be very popular. One of the reasons this tier is limited (and non-repeatable) is that it comes with alpha access and we need to limit alpha access.
$120 No limit HERO - DIGITAL ONLY In some circles this is known as a “Digital Collector’s Edition”. Estimated delivery of Beta 2 Access: June 2015.
MJ Notes: This is our first “2 for 1” tier. It offers the same benefits as buying the same twin but with extra time and 10 additional FPs.
$175 Limit 1500 PHAT LEWT - DIGITAL ONLY You get all the HERO rewards + an ADDITIONAL 50 FOUNDER’S POINTS (100 total) + your BETA ACCESS IS UPGRADED TO ALPHA ACCESS and you receive a FOUNDER’S DISCOUNT ON YOUR SUBSCRIPTION RATE OF NO LESS THAN 6% PER MONTH. Estimated delivery of Alpha Access: August 2014.
MJ Notes: This is essentially an upgraded CE edition but with a lot of additional FPs and alpha access. It is a very limited item because of the alpha access.
$180 Limit 500 INTERNAL TESTING - DIGITAL ONLY This is the pledge tier for the player whose primary focus is getting into the game before it’s even a game, and who is excited by helping us test the really boring stuff. Please only choose this tier if you are able to spend time testing, are willing to write detailed bug reports, are willing and able to sign an Non-disclosure Agreement (NDA) and not employed by or working for another company that creates games. We reserve the right to remove early access from any backers who don’t meet all of these criteria and change their access to Alpha Testing with no refund of the pledge tier. You receive all the Warrior rewards + a very special “BUG SLAYER” TITLE AND TROPHY + YOUR FORUM BADGE WILL BE UPGRADED TO DRAGONIUM + your FOUNDER’S DISCOUNT WILL BE UPGRADED TO 7% and your BETA ACCESS WILL BE UPGRADED TO INTERNAL TESTING. MJ Notes: This is easily the most controversial of all tiers because of its Internal Testing status. I cannot stress enough how I hope that we will not sell this tier out and that even if we do, it won’t be repeated because of my fear that we will have some people who will buy this access just to play and not to test. That is why this tier is limited to 500 and why I’ve tried to discourage people from signing up for it.
$225 Limit 5000 TWIN HEROES EDITION - DIGITAL ONLY Two HERO rewards plus an ADDITIONAL 50 FOUNDER’S POINTS (100 total). Estimated delivery of Beta 1 Access: February 2015.
MJ Notes: Another 2 for 1 tier.
$250 Limit 2500 WARRIOR FOREVER - DIGITAL ONLY You get all the WARRIOR rewards + an ADDITIONAL 50 FOUNDER’S POINTS (70 total) + a THREE-YEAR SUBSCRIPTION (known elsewhere as a “lifetime” subscription) for $1 per year (as per Kickstarter policy) + FOUNDER’S WALL PLAQUE + SPECIAL STARTER WEAPON (cosmetic and salvageable) + SPECIAL STARTER ARMOR (cosmetic and salvageable) + YOUR FORUM BADGE IS UPGRADED TO PLATINUM + 3 EXTRA BETA INVITES (Beta 3) + 3 EXTRA CHARACTER SLOTS and your BETA ACCESS IS UPGRADED TO ALPHA ACCESS. The folks at Kickstarter are concerned with the legal ramifications of offering a lifetime subscription so this way we address their concerns. They have been great with us and I really understand where they are coming from.

It's either the $110 tier or the $250 tier. The only reason I'd want the $250 is the alpha access of course but really for the Warrior package that has the Crafter's icon in it too. Since I saw the crafters icon mentioned in the rough drafts, I've wanted it, heeh.

75$ digital tier includes all WARRIOR rewards. 55$ WARRIOR reward doesn't include FORUM BADGE (silver), but the EARLY WARRIOR has got FORUM BADGE (silver).
So ppl who will choose 75$ or 150$ tier from the beggining are left with only bronze forum badge.
Or am I wrong?
It's not worth much but you are leaving ppl who gives more without it.

55$ tier WARRIOR has got only 1 month of subscription, which means that 75$ tier has got only one too. But on 150$ there is said that it has got 1 additional month of subscription (total 3). Something is wrong? (50$ tier has got two months of sub).

i would so go for the 250$ if i could afford, i love the cloth map, poster etc :P
But i'll stick with the $110, and if its possible later on, i wont mind buying the mouse pad poster and cloth map.

The $50 and $110 tiers look good. The internal testing one is tempting too, just cause you'd get to the game sooner. Then again, lots of bugs and no content, testing for bugs isn't really much of a game
Will be interesting to see how fast the money for this kickstarter comes in.

I wonder though, it mentions the weapon/armour you get for it being a "starter" weapon/armour, but then mentions how a crafter can salvage it and the cosmetic perks that come with the items can be used on other items.
i hope there's a way to ensure people can't steal it? I mean if these are rare (once the game launches) it'd be ripe for someone to give teh weapon/armour to a crafter to do this and the crafter see's how rare it is and just salvages it and keeps the skins.
Hopefully that can't happen.
I also really hope that the cosmetic items you can get through kickstarter and with the founders points, are account bound, and not player bound.
So if you use them on one character, then make another, you get the items again for that new character.
I hated how in GW2 the digital deluxe edition things were player bound (pets, etc) and many people didn't realize this and while making characters and testing out things deleted them, and lost them for a while until Arenanet gave them back to players and made sure to tell everyone it was a one-time use thing and not to lose it/sell it/delete it.
Account bound just "feels" better and doesn't lead to all these issues.

I'm prolly gonna get both internal testing and warrior forever tier for the Dragonium badge/internal testing all the way to beta 3, and all the 3 year sub from warrior forever.

Good catch on the text. You are correct, you get a silver badge upgrade and 2 free months subscription. Fortunately, that was right on the KS but wrong on cut and pasting I was doing.
I'm checking this tier and see if there are any other problems. I can't update the website now but will take care of it tomorrow.

We had a $120 tier but I wasn't happy with it. I'm still looking at it but I can't promise it will be ready in time. It didn't feel like a good enough tier, especially with the less expensive digital tiers that were better. It still may make it in but only if I feel it is worthwhile.
I'd rather have people buy the less expensive tier and we sell a map to our founders then build a tier which just feels wrong. The $120 physical tier just felt wrong to me so I killed it.

So you are giving a special "Bug Slayer" title and forum Dragonium badge for Internal testing tier and hoping it will not sell out? Especially since it is limited to 500 players?? Who are you kidding, that will be gone first lol. That will be the thing people rush to since it is so so limited.
I mean even if I don't have internal testing access but get the title and badge I would pay $180.
Yes, I suspect it will sell out within one hour.
Oh, and a question:
Can one get the benefits of two dissimilar tiers together? For example, the Internal Testing tier and the Warrior Forever tier? That Internal Testing tier is quite unique and would combine well with the swag from other tiers.
I intend to pledge in a higher tier but I also would like to be part of the internal testing, and though I imagine the higher tiers may have internal testing access, too, they may not have the coveted "Bug Slayer" title and Dragonium badge. Silly vanity things, I know, but still.
I hope not but it probably will. Originally the tier was larger but I was really concerned that it would be bought by too many people who just wanted to play instead of test. So, I lowered the number and I plan on filling out the ranks from people who prove to us on the forums that they are willing to spend time to help us. I might lose some $$$$ from that (I might have been able to sell them that tier) but it is worth it to me. I was also thinking of just killing it but I got enough feedback from people I trust that having a small tier like that was still a good idea.
