Long story short I sent an email to the comunity folks expressing my thoughs about the entire discussion since the original thread had alread been locked. Mike actually recieved my email about the add's. His reply was interesting to say the least.
However the add's are still with us or they were last night, despite all the folks getting slightly bent out of shape. And addblock did no good it tried to block out the entire page. I understand they got to make money, but sometimes these add go overboard.
Nothing wrong with regular porn, but this game is for pedophiles...
is there little half naked children in it?
all ive seen are legal looking women.
If you've seen the first ads, before they "matured up" the faces, then you'd know what I mean.
google images of japanese models. You will see lots of hot young girls..... oh wait, they are adult models that look young. I see what you mean, but whats on your mind doesnt always mean the right thing.
I am at a loss for words on how a company can sell sex to mainly kids just for a fast buck, I have seen some pretty strange things in my time playing MMO but this games advertisements takes the cake lol.
Man oh man I can see now why women get offended, we as a people use them as objects to sell things, do those devolpers even have daughters, wives, mothers lol, no wonder we as a people are so messed up, look at how they sell a video game, what's next, posters of a half nude chic eating a Big Mac on a Mcdonalds poster outside of a drive though or how about nipple pasties on Wendy from the fast food join Wendy's, yeah that will sell some double cheeseburgers lol.
We live in sad, sad time people, very sad lol.
Not commenting about the "game" but rather about that stupid example you gave of a BK commercial..
If this was a guy in a taco commercial with similar innuendo people likw you would still bitch and moan that it objectifies women. Women can and do enjoy sexuality just as men do, sex sells to both sexes the fact that the target audience of a game is mostly teen-age males with some disposable income does not mean that the developers/marketing people are some sexist pigs.
The sad part is that when femenism started it was about the libiration of women a key part of which was the liberation of their sexuality. Now we have insane women crying about objectification(when they objectify themselves just as much if not more than males) , and more importantly men with a white knight(or in most cases just pure old mysagonism) complex thinking they have to be the vanguard of every pair of boobs on the planet.
Women are quite capeable of taking care of themselves, heck they have been running the pron industry since the late 80's, and in advertisements women and gay men are 3 times most likely to add sexual context to the add(at least in copyrighting) than straight men.
If you care so much about social equality find a cause that will be actually worth to fight for, there are plenty of god honest battles out there. Saying look guys we are bad cuz we like big boobs is pointless, either you are one of those man that want women to get back in the kitchen wearing a chastity belt. Or you one of those guys that is so incapable of finding a women that you think point guarding for their sex will help you score.
Both men and women are capable of handling their sexuality on equaly, i see no issue of having sexual content in a game which is aimed at a sufficiently mature audience. I doubt you have any reservation to the fact that male characters in most games(well western games at least) look like the love baby(unless you are a republican than replace that with the spawn of satan) of a 3 times olymic swimmer and an underwear model. But oh noes some another cheep game tries to get some more players with big boobs and slutty outfits, call the PC hotline we have a really bad case of sexism!

I believe you would be wrong as to be soft core porn it would have to depict sexual activity in a less explicit way than Hardcore porn.Whilst the characters are scantily clad I do not beleive there is any actual sex int he game and certainly not depicted on screen.
All Is ee here in the OP and some subsequent posters is another excuse to go off on puritanical rants.Though I do believe the ads and armors in the game are pushing the boundaries of good taste,I don't beleive they are harming anyone and thus in need of banning or legal action.Maybe if any type of sexual content in emdia makes you guys so uncomfortable the problem lies in your psyche and not the media itself.
I belive the bigger issue here is the game hides a very derivative and mediocre MMORPG behind it's veneer of titilation and for that reason deserves to fail.
Uh oh, they crossed the invisible arbitrary line that OP drew in invisible sand. Sex sales, blame the people buying, they create the market.
In the meantime, take a look at the games your playing and realize they glorify violence and murder... Something that should be far worse than sexuality. Why is exploiting one ok but not the other? The US is so backasswards on sexuality and violence that its ridiculous.
The answer is because its just a damned video game. It's fantasy make believe, get over it.
Yeah it's actually amazing that violence/murder gets a up and something like Scarlet Blade should be censored.
I mean: Pornography generates billions of dollars in sales in the United States alone. An estimated 211 new pornographic films are made every week in the United States. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pornography_by_region
Apart from that I feel the marketing department of Scarlet Blade wants to thanks all those free viral topics about their game, regardless that those topics are negative towards the game they keep the game under readers attention.
Gotta love when people get bent out of shape about a little T & A. Then go back to playing GTA and murder some cops, rob a bank, kill bystanders and basically cause mayhem.
But dont let any of the murdered hookers show any cleavage. That would just be plain wrong.

Do you even pay attention to whats going on in the world? Violence is the ongoing assault, not sex. If you were truly worried about societies moral fabric you would be railing against the excess violence in everything. Commercials, movies, games, TV shows, ect.
I find it ironic the same people who think a nude woman / man is destroying society but dont bat an eyelash about their kids watching violent media or playing violent games.
I am American and I honestly do not understand this country anymore. A pair of Titties gets people so outraged, yet violence permeates everything and no one cares.
I seriously hope the ones screaming the loudest at this non-issue (imo) are as consistent with every other sensitive category and not just being hypocrites.

Hear, hear. I still remember the Super Bowl nipplegate as if it were yesterday. So sad.
What moral fabric of society... empires used to pillage and do bad things to any type of human being for centuries. To act like we suddenly have morals and standards is a joke.
The bubble we live in today may come to an end anytime soon with any type of natural disaster or nutters having nuclear technology selling it to rogue factions. Then it will come down to who has the most powerful clan wins and people will be subjected to horrific abuse.
I semi agree though and am desensatised to games like this and adverts on TV but then again what do I know Im just a forum poster QQing on the internet.

I keep seeing this canard. For the most part violence is handled responsibly. We kill enemies and monsters. When games like Postal mowing down marching bands and the grand theft auto running over hookers thing come out society does question it. How many mainstream games have you seen about roasting Jewish people in ovens and lynching Black people have you seen? Rape, torture, and genocide aren't topics commonly seen in gaming. Yeah it gets over the top sometimes but there are limits.
What part of violence is reponsible?
Either way it isn't like the game is rated T. This shouldn't even matter.
The depiction of violence in gaming. You know, the part I was clearly talking about. It matters. First because the ratings are often ignored guidelines and second because some things are wrong no matter how old you are.
I really don't think a person who has such a blatant double standard between violence and sexuality should be dictating what is and isn't morally acceptable in a game rated for adults. If you don't like a game don't play it.

How are you going to tell me what is right and wrong in a virtual world? FFS i can goto a hog farm and slaughter the swine and claim it was those darned video games that did it.
Ratings are there for a reason, beyond that point it is consumer and parental responsibility. PERSONAL responsibility.. it is about damn time people stop blaming others for their problems.
It's time people stop excusing their excesses in the name of someone else's personal responsibility. The game companies bear some resonsibilty too. If someone murders that's their responsibility. If a gaming company makes a tasteless overly sexualized or violent game that's their responsibility. The concept of personal responsibility relies on everyone taking responsibility for their own actions. It's not a one way street. What is right and wrong in a virtual world is largely what's right anfd wrong in the real world. There is more leeway because of lack of immediate real world effect but even there the limits exist. If we never discuss the limits no one will ever know what they are. If we don't regulate ourselves the nanny state will do it for us and we won't like it.
So regulate yourself? Just don't presume to regulate me based on your own version of morality. You can't preach freedom on one hand while trying to make arbitrary rules and regulations based off nonsensical double standards with the other.
If it had good gameplay, there would be no problem and honestly, I prefer some boob in my gameplay, LOL. Sadly, the gameplay is boring as many others have said and the boobs are only there to draw in players to a boring game. Love the boobies, hate the gameplay.

Never saw so many people get hard up on cartoon boobs since Hentia first hit the local nerd shops, I mean anime stores here in the states...and they all raged with stiffies on top of it, just to hide the fact they were going to buy some, take it home, lock the door and turn the lights out as they watched it.

There was the same objection to violence once apon a time in games, but guess what money and lobbying won, and now we have ultra violent games targetting children directly, and that is certainly damaging for young children and why parents really should take ownership of sensorship to protect their chidren since the game industry has failed. Now rightly we have people raising concerns about this repugnant and vile sexual advertising directed at children, equally disgusting.
If I was associated with this product either directly or indirectly through advertising I would be absolutely ashamed of myself quiet frankly, life isnt all about money. I wonder if the publishers of these games and adverts feel its appropriate that their own children play this game.

What double standard? Excessive is excessive. I'm not aware of dictating anything. Have my death squads arrived to check your computer or what? Or is any discussion that permits the concept of morals and responsibility to enter it forbidden?
There is no double standard I agree. A line can be drawn somewhere that I wont try to define that marks where gameplay crosses into violence not suitable for children, e.g space invaders is clearly destroying and killing, but its clearly not violent. Same goes for sexualisation, except sexualisation is never part of gameplay it is added purely to sexualise and not to improve the game quality - it has no place in childen gaming, especially while it targets children. Disgusting.

The game isn't rated E or even T, the game is rated M as in 17+. This isn't child gaming, if children are playing it then the parents let them play it.
There is nothing disgusting about it, it is what it is. It isn't like this is being advertised during saturday morning cartoons.
lol then either its aiming at those with a wee taste for peodophilia, or the advertising is aiming for teenagers and knowing all too well it appeals to teenagers not adults (which is ofc the case). Have you not seen them? they were pretty disturbing.
Put it this way, do you really think the average of gamer playing this game is over 17? and if it was, do you think a game full of adults playing these chars is healthy?!

I've seen far worse in advertising, as for the pedo issue the models don't even look remotely childish. So far I haven't seen any ads that disturbed me from this game.
Teenagers have parents it is up to them to monitor what their child does. Also many adults like this stuff, if the game was decent i'd play it too. I see no issue since it doesn't contain rape or children.
Again it is what it is, get over it.
I dont need to get over anything, my opinion is that the models were childish and disturbing, and certaily not adult like. Parents should take responsiblity, but that does not excuse the sexualisation of models cleary aimed at children.

Peoplo can have their own opinions, of course, but i think complaining about this game (or any game like this) is... Hypocrite.
Why? Because sex is used everywhere, all the time, to sell things. Think about any kind of product or service, there are thousand of ads about that product or service that use sex to sell it.
Not only that: tv presenters, actors, hell even news presenters are never ugly (not non-handsome / pretty, UGLY).
If we lived in a world where anyone, no matter their appearance, could be a public image, and we all didn't really care about appearance i would understand this complaint. But things are not like that. So this complaint is hypocrital.
Go out there to change the world and stop losing both your time and ours.
If you think its not the sexualisation of childen (i.e under 18) why dont you go have a we search on scarlet blade screenshots, some chars look older, some are certainly models of under age children defined in a sexual manner.

beside, TBH, it's not even the first Asian MMO with half naked females, at least I saw tons of them, so nothing new.

Go out there to change the world and stop losing both your time and ours.
