Those who haven't played & on the fence...
I've gotten a few friends to bite and try the Defiance beta and all I had to do was tell them this:
Imagine a third-person, non-cell shaded Borderlands set in an MMO environment with hundreds of other players but lacking the witty writing of Borderlands. The skill system (EGO powers?) are similar, the weapons + shield combo are what give you stats, shoot & loot etc.
Four different powers? check
Four player Co-op? (This is based on the co-op dungeons, more players outside) check
Digitized vehicle spawns? check
Four legged creatures with tough shells and they roll? check
Focus on guns, shields, and grenades? check
Random chick inside your head who guides you? check
Obviously evil character? check
Psychotic bandits? check
Post apocalyptic looking world? check
Character is hunting for treasure? check
Obvious evil company? check
Does this make the game a 'rip off' of Borderlands? Not at all. Have you ever played Borderlands and said to yourself, 'gee this game is sweet but It'd be cooler if it was an MMO and I could actually see my character! (3rd person view)
I'm a huge fan of shooters (mainly for PvP purposes) but Borderlands was/is an awesome game. However, I just can't play it anymore after playing Defiance - I feel like it will offer a lot more but only time will tell.

I liked borderlands as well, but watching the videos of Defiance...well not really into it, the gameplay looks really weak, Graphics less than stellar, cant say anything about the story, but in most MMOS storyline is almost non existent.
I was interested in this game until i watch the gameplay videos, now ill never try it.
You know I never played a third person shooter in my life until Defiance now I have to say I enjoyed it enought that I just bought it last night.
