Grievance is an adult gaming community, 18+ only. We have many long term members. This is no start up guild. We were formed in October 15th, of the year 2000. We were not always known as Grievance, but the membership has been strong and growing! We are one of the few trademarked Guilds in all gaming communities. We are comprised of singles, married couples, retired people, military members, college students and people located through out the US.
I have a few questions for you guys that are not very friendly...
One, your website design. I don't really know how else to put it, it's completely horrible, done with little care, attention, or understanding of the most basic design principles. Ranging from text overflowing to strange button placements to poor font and different colors. Broken links everywhere. Forum styling isn't great, either.
I understand this is your central hub for all guild information or activity, which means people have the displeasure of using it. If this guild really existed for 10 years, I'd imagine you should have been able to find a web designer/developer to fix your website by now. It's extremely troubling and suspicious to me to see a website of such low quality in a mega-guild with thousands of members. There has to be something going on for this to be possible.
Two, why does Grievance Gamer Girls have to exist within a private community like a guild, which states it is against sexism? Can (whether in theory or practice) GGG members play male characters? TeamSpeak, unfortunately, automatically reveals one's gender. I've seen several invites for women to join GGG, does this also occur on TeamSpeak? Is a woman's gender going to be highlighted if she speaks on TeamSpeak? What happens to women who do not join GGG, are there any women on normal TS channels, or are they in separate rooms due to GGG?

all said and done, I just think they're too intrusive and annoying, like watching an infomercial at 3 AM
They are indeed everywhere, and recruiting seems quantity > quality as a result of that, with messages full of exclamation marks every time, like a PR group. Hard to figure out what the guild is about when its outer address seems very marketing-style.

Well I cannot give answers as to the format of the website. I do know that it is in flux and different things are being tried, but that's all I can tell you there.
Regarding the Grievance Gamer Girls, I'll bring your question to their attention. The answer would be much better coming from them than I.
I can tell you what I personally get from Grievance. I'm 42 and still enjoy gaming, however I have a lot of responsibilities that have seriously cut my gaming time short. Grievance allows me to still schedule raiding time, without insisting that I show up for every raid. I can be as involved in the guild or not without having to worry about being kicked due to being away for a while. In addition Grievance is a community, not a single guild, so I can jump into many different games and still play with familiar people.
Our Website is in the middle of a pretty major reconstruction project. We're in the process of adding some real neat things to it and hope that when finished everyone enjoys. One of the main purposes of the reconstruction is to bring together many of the separate sites that we've had up and running into one main home page.
The Gamer Girls are a group of ladies in Grievance that wanted to have some lady/girl oriented events. At no time are any Grievance female players required to partake in this, although most have fun doing so. Far as i know (and i am on almost every night), they don't lock themselves in their own channel except on event nights
If you have the time, you should check us out a bit more. You might be surprised at what you find
Well since I'm the head of the Grievance Gamer Girls, I can definitely attest that we do not require our ladies to join. It's just nice to have a place we can go and chat and game outside of the normal guilds. There are indeed ladies in everyone of our Guilds and embassies. In fact I was just in Rift this morning with 2 other females. Thank you for the feedback.
I've applied to Grievance via the website forums and I'm extremely excited to have found such an awesome gaming community. I've been in MMO's for a very long time but have never had a core group to call home. I have a couple friends that I hope to bring to grievance with me if I'm accepted and I look forward to having a fun group to go into wildstar with

Glad to have you! I've had many great experiences with guilds but none that have lasted. Grievance has a great history and isn't going away!
I have been a member of Grievance for a bit over 3 years now and while I may not be the most active member, I have found everyone to be quite helpful and enjoyable to be around. We have active members in several games and they hail from all across the globe. The Guild members are eager to help out or group up at the drop of a hat. Our voice chat is huge an usually filled with people chatting away in the different rooms. Personally, I could not ask to be a member of another Guild more suited to my gaming style... For there are none. I would highly recommended them to anyone seeking a Guild to join.

Thanks Ratero! That's a good point regarding team speak, people are always on there and up for chatting.
That is the great thing about Grievance. If you find that you are getting burned out in the current game you are playing, you can always switch over to a different game and still be a part of this great organization!
Come join an amazing group of gamers where real life always come first, where you are NEVER just a person to fill a raid spot..You are actually part of a family.
We are so excited for the release of this game, with an active teamspeak channel full of both soon to be Exile and Dominion players. Many of us ready to preorder tomorrow and hop into weekend betas together to explore Nexus and collect Plushies!
Hope to see you on our forums today...www.grievancegaming.org
I promise, you will NOT be disappointed if you join our community!

I mean, http://lazygamerscafe.com/ looks great. What happened to the actual guild website?
