If this game ever, EVER looks to be in danger of NOT funding (unlikely as that sounds) I will personally sell a goddamn kidney and myself into indentured servitude in order to fund it. I have literally never been this excited about a game, and I have been hardcore gaming for 28 years straight.

I don't know what to say here......

I hope alot of the doners are still at work and will be chimming in tonight. We can do it.
I think that's very possible. I don't like to do any purchases from work and waited to donate to the Kickstarter when I got home in the early afternoon. I'm sure many others in the western hemisphere will do the same.
I hope alot of the doners are still at work and will be chimming in tonight. We can do it.
Is it possible? Yes. Do I hope it hits $1M by the end of today? Yes! Heck, I hope it exceeds that!
However, the realist in me is expecting today's total to be maybe up to $800,000, and even that is fairly optimistic. A lot of the really rabid fans have pledged already, so it is not going to jump up by $100,000 per hour anymore.
I do agree that there will be a decent push tonight, though, as people get off work, but I doubt it will match the morning.

Putting money down on a game you know is backed and funded I get and your cash means you get a copy of the game. Putting money down on a game even a bank wont support seems crazy to me. Do you even get a copy of the game for kickstarting CU? If you do thats both a bad and a good thing. If they do, at least you may get something for your money but then the game you kickstarted is behind the 8 ball when it launches as thats money they dont earn at launch. They have not even proved they know how to manage the money everyone is giving them. Banks do that when they invest this much money. Are we this desperate for a new game? Hope your investment turns out well for your all but this seems so crazy.
Mark needs to step in and beef up the guild tiers. From the get go no one was purchasing them. He needs to up the guild tier prices and add some rewards to make them a bit more attractive. Can get a lot of extra cash if these changes are made I guarantee it after hearing what people had been asking for on these and other forums.

Don't mean to be brash, but there are many people that come on here constantly down talking this without even knowing how it works. We appreciate your concern, but do us all a favor and learn a bit about what you are arguing for or against here with CU. Then, after you did that, realize that most of us here have been so excited about a game being made for our niche that we have been here theory-crafting and b.s. ing back and forth for about two months. Today, the long awaited Kick Started finally launced and we are reasonably excited. If you get some rude responses, I hope you understand!

You get a game compy, you can also get something like priority queue and some other cool benefits. You can get game cheaper than at release. You can have fun talking with other people on forums about the game we all want.
Banks thinks only about money. We need good game, not a game that is about only money. We have a chance to achieve it by donating CU.

I wasn't rude so any rudness directed at me would not be my fault so not a bother to me.

That's why you invest in someone who has a proven track record, like, oh say, the guy who was behind two of the most successful MMORPGs in the history of the genre, and who has made 30 games before?
And are you saying that "bank backed" games like SWTOR and all the other WoW clones are better games?
Hopefully the various interviews CSE is going to give and the information CSE is going to release over the campaign will spur bouts of pledges.
What we really need is for big, non-MMORPG news sites to pick this up. Not every MMORPG gamer follows MMORPGs on places like MMORPG.com and Massively, but they may use sites like Tom's Hardware with massive readerships. That sort of exposure would do wonders for Camelot Unchained.

Seem's anyone and their grandmother can get crazy money off kickstarter if you say the right things.
I rememeber the good old days of kickstarter (about 12 months ago) where true indie 2-3 man teams needing funding for an idea that was truly new, now we get all these "famous" guys kick-starting multi-million dollar games they could fund themselves if they sold a couple of their cars and one of their summer homes.

Mark is putting in $2M of his own money. That is obviously not his entire savings, but it is likely a significant portion.
Also, consider this a good way to gauge interest, too. People have said they want an RvR game done right for years, but that is a niche market. Now people have a chance to put their money where their mouth is and show just how interested they are.

Hehe, this instantly made me think of the many Ron Paul moneybombs.
