I have a friend thats a KS spook. He watches them like they are movies (but never posts or contributes). Whatever, to each his own. Anyway, he says most explode for the first day or two, then trickle in until the last couple of days when we will see another explosion.

Sorry but its only by taking risks through Kickstarter that many gamers will get the games they want to play. Corporate developers would never fund a game like CU. Hell all I read about is how corporations are convinced smartphone gaming is the future.
I agree that Kickstarter plays an important role in giving some more radical concepts a shake, but in the case of CU I'm not convinced they couldn't get corporate backing. Hell, he even says in the video that they have other funding sources that will exceed the 2 million they're asking for on KS. Kickstarter is being used here primarily as a publicity campaign and as a way of gauging interest for the other funding sources. That additional funding may be contingent on them reaching their goal. CSE probably got a more favorable contract where they can keep more of the profits and retain more creative control as a result.

I don't think they got the word out about this game is the reason it slowed Shroad of the avatar has 18,000 backers but only 1.39 million in funds which is kinda scary because basically Ultima was the biggest sucessfull game then DACO it was the first MMO too. I had more fun in Ultima then in DAOC but both were equally fun.

I will not be happy unless we hit $1,000,000 by Saturday morning. Most people, at least in North America, are paid bi-weekly, usually on a Friday. Some are also paid on the 15th and last day of each month, but that is less common.
Anyway, here's hoping that this payday Friday, for those where it is this Friday, will spur some pledges!

The $250 gets your Alpha access, Beta Access, 36 Months free and $1/year after that.. How can you say no to that if you are going to be a serious player.

That being said I encourage everyone to take full advantage of social media to get the word out.
Use your facebook and twitter accounts, etc. to reach the masses. It only takes a minute or 2 to put a post on them but if everyone did we would reach thousands more and find the long lost players of DAOC.:)
