Something I think we should push for...in regards to naming your characters....

IF YOU ARE LUCKY ENOUGH....to get the name you want, either reserved or when the game comes out.

give the option of being able to use that name for any of your toons on that server....even other realms if they are going to allow that. Even cross servers IF they were planning on keeping names that unique!

    Why would you want to keep names unique across servers? The only reason i can think of would be clustering. The downside is that you will get names like Ssssaruuumaaaannn and MMMerrrrlinnnn.

    Don't forget the players from the same countries that need to add those to their names:
    It's always like: PeterDK, SaruuuumanPL, KillerRUS.

    Stupid stuff like that.

    I just said IF that was their plans cross servers. But, remember, going this route will leave to many less names, I believe lots of people will pick one name they love and want to be associated with it across all there toons!

    You mean you wanna have all your toons be able to have the same name? :)

    For me that would be a detriment to the 'association' i feel with my toons.

    The main point of this thread is that you can use same name for all your toons on your main server...if you choose

    I'm sort of interested in this.

    You always get the variations. Healtucadros etc etc, but being able to somehow just be 'me' would be neat.

    If you mean different characters on the same server can interchange names, my vote is no. It goes against the whole point of building up renown for a character. It's not good if Blooky the top mage on the server can be logged in as Blooky the level 3 healer later in the day and then back to the mage a few hours later.

    So, people pick similar names...get to know your server...that's the point.

    names should be unique worldwide, makes later server merges easier and stat tracking.
