Is Dark Fall really worth the $15 subscribtion fee that they charge to play the game? I watched some gameplay videos and i noticed its coming out fairly soon so I went to buy it assuming it was a F2P. I was quite stunned when I saw it had a $15 sub. NeverWinter is F2P and looks 10 times better. I played Never Winter but not Dark Fall so I really can't say but from the looks of it Dark Fall does'nt look to orignial.

I was a big fan of DF1... DF:UW i don't like it at all... low quality game to give money...
If it had another subscription model then its another story... but monthly? no way
NO, it is not worth it.
The game is missing more than 75% of the promised or described features. AV, the developers, have a long history of never delivering stuff on the dates told and when deliver the features NEVER works as intended and is not tested.
This.
James T. Kirk: All she's got isn't good enough! What else ya got?
You cannot really compare DF:UW to Neverwinter, haven't played neverwinter but I know from what I've seen and read that they are totally different games.
DF:UW has lots of pvp, lots of exploration in a huge open world, full loot and many more features where you can find if you look at their website. I play the beta and I can tell you with all honesty that the game is playable and has stuff to do at its current state, but lots of stuff are still missing. From what I can tell, you have never played DF, so until more content has been added the current amount of stuff there is to do will suffice for a totally new player like yourself.
About the sub, I personally find it worth it but that is something that you will find out yourself, for this game isn't for everyone, you will have noticed that people either hate it or love it, there is no middle ground.
Nope
There is a post on these forums with their community guy confirming that half of the features will be missing at launch.
Even tho the game was ready last nov and didnt need any beta testing as they had tested everything internally.. < I am not making that up either LOL.
Tho i must admit Neverwinter is 10x worse than DF:UW and thats saying somthing...
The origonal DF was was well worth the sub price it was an awesome game.. yes it needed a a few things tweaked to make the game better but it didnt need DF:UW..
It's all in the eye of the beholder, of course many will slate it for just having a sub(cheap gits), then there's the haters because of the type of game it is and then theres the just those that can't be pleased no matter.
But If you've seen something in the video's that appeals to you, then give it a go.
Personally i didnt like the direction of the new game but im a DF 1.0 vet. If your new to Darkfall it really is a better game, just not like the old DF in so many ways that it turns off a lot of vet players.
If you really like this type of game, and can enjoy clan vs clan city seiges as the primary endgame then it will be worth the $15.
Its certainly lightyears ahead of its competition. It still is the only decent game of this type out there. So if this is the type of game you like, its your best option and will be worth the 50 cents a day.
I think im going to wait untill the summer or fall to start playing, i dont care if i lose out on my $15 preorder tbh. I want a full game with stuff that really only a vet would miss.
Dont let the haters turn you off. They are angry vets who want to trash the game for not being as they wanted it...which is something no new player would care about or notice.
Just be sure to find a good clan right off the bat in DF. Youll find the best advice and it doesnt take all that long to get competative in a siege...and again thats the best part of darkfall so no point trotting around solo untill your "ready" for that kind of action.
I think it will be worth it. You could certainly wait until after release. The first few months of Darkfall 1 were epic because of the city grabs and battles to exhert your clans dominance. I wouldnt miss the beginning of Unholy Wars for any other game.
Same here, and their customer support is abysmal, as well. I finally received a reply yesterday to a support request I had sent them back in December.
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

Aye the beginning of darkfall is one of the best moments in the game, If you are starting to get sick of the traditiional MMORPGs and like PvP i would definetly say Darkfall is worth checking out. I reckon its worth the subscription fee despite quite a few of the feature wont be out when released because its not like the other games on the market. Also you cant realy have a cash shop or anything in this type of game so you wont see anything other than a sub fee.
WIsh there was a poll but yeah I agree with the no crowd. You should go take a read of the thread on here where AV themselves confirm how much is unfinished. That tells you all you need to know and remeber this was supposed to be ready for launch back in November.
Read that and the green answers - then decide for yourself. It is the only game of its type but sadly just nowhere close to 1/2 finished or so.
Unless you purchased DF1 you also have to buy DFUW and pay the monthly sub. Save your money, DFUW will likely go free to play with a cash shop shortly after release in hopes of staying viable. That's already the plan for their Asian client release.
What this guy said. The guy Tasos in charge of the company is very dishonest in how he goes about things. They didn't tell the truth for ages that they were making a whole new game just and kept those playing DF1 under the impression that was still the main game until one day the just said that game will close and new game will be released and everybody lost all their work.
Then in Nov they pretended they were going to release the game just so they could get more funding from ex DF1 players buying a sub and new players buying the whole game. Now many months later the game is still half baked and they plan to release it. Not to mention they have no means to combat hackers in a full loot pvp game, so you'll be wasting your time be farmed by them. Save your money do not give it to this company
I enjoyed DF1 personally had lot of PVP ..
For returning vet t he price is 15 euros for the game which is not bad. still as most of the content is still missing I will wait
for new playes the full price is a waster i wouldnt recomend it ( personal opinion)0
InternetQ is pleased to announce its investment in Aventurine - to co-develop Asian Darkfall 2.0, which is to be a free-to-play version of the original game.

AV has even stated they also want to pursue micro transactions for the Western market.
"This doesn't mean we're not looking at microtransactions. We're very interested if we can get it right."
Buy the game for $$, pay $15 a month - until the F2P model sorted out. Then it WILL be worth the millions of dollars that InternetQ invested.
Konstantinos Korletis, Chief Executive of InternetQ plc, commented:
"This investment is at the heart of our previously announced plans to enhance subscription loyalty... and being able to both cross and up-sell services to our subscribers will be critical for our future success. Moreover, with the successful launch of Darkfall 2.0 and the development of Aventurine's other titles, we will be able to drive more focused marketing campaigns to an even more affluent pool of subscribers."
I am sure Korletis is not talking about you...
I would pass for now.
It's missing many features at the moment though they have been promised to be implemented shortly after launch (lol).
I would give it a few months. Look at what updates have been applied and then base your decision on playing then.
As it currently stands though it's a definiate pass.
I find it kind of lame that if you dont pre-order by the 12th of April you will have to buy the whole client again regardless of whether or not you bought DF in the past. Seems to be a bit on the pressuring side if you ask me.
"Darkfall Unholy Wars PreOrder Promotion Ends-April 12th
Darkfall Unholy Wars pre-order promotion will end on April 12th. This is your last chance to take advantage of the Preorder offer: Returning Darkfall players will get the game at the price of the subscription (14.95) while new players get 25% off (29.95). This offer includes 30 days of game time after official launch, last chance for beta access*, and the ability to reserve a character name**."
I myself would like to see some more of the game before I make that decision but one thing I know for sure is that I will not buy the client again.
I hear ya - it is just their way to try and bait people in is all. I mean they honestly should keep that offer out there based on their post about how much is missing and confirmed... It does seem like pressuring indeed.
Its definitely not worth it in Europe @ $20.00 per month.
