Excuse me but anyone else got the impression that DF:UW is actually what an Elder Scrolls online game should be like?

A giant, seamless world to explore? Going everywhere without restrictions?

Sandbox?

Classless, no levels, skillbased?

1st person view and mouse aim?

-Umm...there are levels and classes (prowess and roles)

    - isn't really a sandbox

-it has 1st and 3rd person views

Not sure, but doesnt Elder Scrolls have instanced PVP?

Darkfall is all world PVP with city conquest and sieges with small safe zones.

Some people in these forums are here purely to trash the game, you'd be wise to ignore them and wait for more videos or a trial if you're not convinced.

DFUW doesn't have set classes like most games recently released. You can change your 'role' whenever you want on your character and you accumulate prowess points which can be allocated to improve a stat, buy boosters, upgrade skills and schools.

The game is sandbox but it's not as deep as say EvE. DFUW is as Sandbox because of...

1.) Freedom to go/do whatever you want and still level (No quest hubs)

2.) All the world is non-instanced and explorable

3.) You can change your class instantly and level up what you want to your liking

4.) The economy is based around player crafting

5.) You can own a house, different sized houses and add in decorations or more functionality (eg. a safe)

6.) Players can build and hold pre-set cities and siege cities in the conquest/politics metagame

1st or 3rd person view is optional.

This is one hell of a random compairson i have ever read. DFUO is nothing like TES games. I know because i played both so i suggest you do the same.

Lore aside I think the OP is comparing the mechanics of the Elderscrolls in development to the mechanics behind DFUW.

I think it's clear w/o the lore no one would recognise ESO as an elderscrolls game.

They are nothing a like, lore aside. Mortal Online woud be a much better comparison.

LOL @ MO, hancakes if you guys haven't noticed already is going through every thread trash-talking. I wouldn't take into consideration anything he says.

Trash talking? I'm not making this stuff up and feel free to debate any points you feel are false.

I welcome the new batch trying to promote and market DFUW here on mmorog, com.

Problem is that he is not making the stuff up...  AV has ninja edited their site more in the past day and the post straight from their mouths by Mr. White confirms a lot of core content is not in at launch...  They are doing it to themselves...

I'd say if you liked the Elderscrolls series, give DFUW a try :) Even from a critic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keSCXv-19TQ realises that if you enjoyed those sort of games you'd enjoy this.

I guess quoting the developer is considered trash talk?

The idea of DFO is great, the implemention? Not so much.

I will freely admit that DFUO is not everything I want it to be, but for the sandbox PvP crowd there isn't really a lot of options to pick from. I'd say at this point DFUO will be the most entertaining to play for this certain crowd (unless you like the spaceship thing, of course).
