I am a big fan of optimism, and I do hope you are right, but other than the first day and those who already knew about it and pledged early, it has sloowed and I can't see where the other half of pledges will come from... Little scoll down the current backers showed me that the vast (somewhat) majority have backed a fair few before, so not so much MMO fans, more just KS fans..
Don't mean to dampen any spirits! More trying to encourage spreading the word
Same. I'm a bit worried myself. We have plenty of time to reach the goal, that's for sure, but it's a lofty one. Depends on the CU updates. The more they show, the better chance they have.
The poster has every right to be scared. The target donations are not meeting whats needed for this game to succeed.
It's not scary like a zombie walking in your room, but rather scary like a zombie walking off with your wallet. A zombie you can't stop .. that is scary.

i predict it will come down to the last day.. but we shall see you never know.... a lot of the interviews and spreading the word is going on now and I'm sure if they get a some more footage out people will be more inclined to pledge
I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg
My wallets fine (for a student). If it meets target it co-incides with my loan and if not i will place the sterling equivent of $250 on red lol.. but i would rather play the game (hopefully as a 1337ist with lifetime..) and have it be successfull. I do feel that it will fall short unless the team can find/appeal to a market that doesn't read the FPs?
I am optimistic that it will fund, but the op's concern is definitely justifiable. Even Mark hinted his concern in a recent update. The $ amount backer have donated has been fantastic, but the number of backers is concerning. If you look at other successfully funded games like Shroud, Torment etc the number of backers are over 70k.
I think part of the reason is people get all disgruntled over warhammer, even though it was lacking people need to remember it was still far superior as a game compared to... well everything since then.
But in any case this game seriously needs some more backers.

You're right, Warhammer worked, best RvR/PvP out there (WoW got played enough obvs...GW2 lacked something and I'm not sure I could handle EVE, out of respect..)... I played WAR a few months ago and it was better than after launch, fewer servers=decent RvR. I was that guy who would rather wait for oRvR than pve, just a better game imo.. At launch I actually had to pve... lat time i played it I didn't have to worry about an empty server, and I'm sure all the lore was written well and true to form (i played a little games workshop) but it didnt quite scratch that DAOC itch that I had. Better on many levels, but a few basic changes (CU..) would have made it significantly better.
I am sure there are more people like me, on the fence of supporting (planning on the lifetime sub tier if I do so that is about $250). Just waiting to hear more toward the end of the campaign
The fans threw money at it immediately and the skeptical but interested will wait until the end (after all updates etc) to put their money in. I don't think it's in much danger of not funding. I do worry about the # of backers though.... even if it funds the # of backers are pretty much the only thing to throw at investors.

I am not too worried about additional private investors. Obviously more private investors would benefit the project, but with 2 mil from Kickstarter an additional 2 mil from Mark and 1 mil from private investors that CSE has already aquired, 5 mil budget for a game is pretty good.
It is doing just fine, no need to worry yet. We are not even at the 25% mark (that would be at ~9:00 PM PDT tomorrow), and have nearly 50% of the funds. Yes, it has slowed a bit, but funds are still trickling in at a decent pace.
Like others have mentioned, a lot of hesitant people are waiting to pledge at all, or pledge more, based on the updates. I suspect CSE will have some pretty compelling updates in the next few weeks that will spur some pledges.
I'd definitely like to see more backers, particularly stronger numbers amongst the lower tiers. That said, looking at the trends of the other very successful games, I don't think we necessarily have to be SCARED at this point. It's close, but not grim.

The successful kickstarter games often get 200k-300k on their last day. It just has to get close to 2 million in order to get a final rush.
As it gets close to the end, perhaps they will offer more livestreams with the employees. Close contact really helps.
