It will only be as PVP centric as your choose to make it just like GW2. If you don't go into the PVP areas you never have to worry about it.
If your point is that without raiding or significant PVE gear progression will there be any point to PVE after CAP I agree that's a concern of mine as well.
If this game is F2P or B2P, I will not be playing. In fact any game that is not a subscription will not get any of my time or money. The outrageous prices in Neverwinter pretty much solidified me not touching another F2P game ever.
I won't be playing ESO but i strongly support P2P and B2P isn't bad. GW2 did do it right although i wasn't a fan of some of the ninja nerfs that made it somewhat difficult at times to get currency. Back to subs though, I have found through my MMO career that P2P communities are much more solid, and the players seem to be better all around. It's hilarious how people think B2P and P2P are so horrible and that they are getting cheated, yet they think its fair that they play a game for free that took millions of dollars to develop and will require continued revenue to push worthwhile content. I just laugh at them and say "keep living in your cheap little bubble where you think entertainment should be free" Go play outside in the woods if you want free entertainment. That's what i did growing up on a farm... Entitlement = fail. Have a great day!

I think you should wait and see. The info I've seen makes it seem like it's a pve and/or pvp game.
Considering you have three factions fo pve content that you can run through in addtion to the eventual "adventure zones" I think you might find more than enough pve to sate your appetite.
Provided that hey do a good job that is.

Do you know something about EQ Next that the rest of us don't? There are zero details about it but you already think it's not your type of MMO at all?
It's a sequel to Everquest and Everquest 2. What more do I need to know? If I'm not interested in those games (and I'm not and have never played them), it's unlikely I'll be interested in part 3.

EQ1 and EQ2 are very different games and really focuse on different types of players. SoE will be doing that again with EQN and by the sounds of it, other then being in Norath it will focus on something not found in EQ1 and EQ2. But like said above, how can we know fully yet as no real details have been given other then hints of the type of game they wana make.
After what I seen from that leaked video, that shows how the game actually is insted of the doctored up videos they usually show, I don't' think I'd play eso if it was free to play, nevermind paying for it. Its pretty much just a generic wow-clone/wannabe in how it progresses, was also funny watching the guy take almost 1 min to kill a mudcrab. Either way that video made me go from "wanting to pre-order" to "probally not going to bother with it" If I want a generic mmorpg gameplay there are tons out there already, we really do not need yet another one thats going to flop in less than 3 months after it comes out.
So No I would not pay 15/month, I'd probally not even play it if it was free to play, the game looks that bad. Also the video I am basing it on Zenimax was in a major panic trying to remove it from the internet because they didn't want it shown how the game really plays/is. Its kinda sad I had hopes for the game. Also before you try to pull the "its a beta" card out of your ass, I have a question: How many mmorpgs have had major/complete gameplay changes in beta to release? In recent memory I think ff14 might have been the only one. wow, swtor, tera, etc etc were all pretty much the same gameplay in them as when they were in beta.
Being a pessimist is a win-win pattern of thinking. If you're a pessimist (I'll admit that I am!) you're either:
A. Proven right (if something bad happens)
or
B. Pleasantly surprised (if something good happens)

People here chuck around WoW clone without using their brains. Read up on a game before you use that term. Its so far from a WoW clone you have no clue. It has DAoC RvR style PvP, SWToR VO story, Action combat, Class system thats skill based (play a mage but pick tank skills and be a mage tank), Warhammer Publick quests and no raids (WoWs main elder game) ESO instead is doing phased events for large scale events anyone can join that will need orgnization and teams working together to get done. Your right that sounds just like WoW (((eye roll)))
EDIT: And unlike WoW, ESO will also have open world dungeons.
I'd like nothing better then to pay a sub for a game that derserved a sub.
ESO has alot of heritage to live up to and I'm looking forward to giving it a spin, whether it has a sub or not. Not worried about getting my $50-$60 worth out of it.
I don't get all the hate for monthly subscriptions. If something entertains me, I will more than gladly pay for it... especially for an MMO that needs continuous attention and updates.
Even if I could only play for an hour a day, that's 30 hours of entertainment for ~$15. Seems like a great deal to me.
Gives the company and game a steady revenue to keep producing patches/fixes/new content. Also (not completely, but it does help) weed out a lot of immature children and trolls.
Seems like most of the complainers are either children or people who don't have money to blow... and if you're in either of those two categories, maybe you should dedicate your time elsewhere.
And lets face it. This IS a huge title. It will launch with a subscription requirement. If it doesn't draw in the amount of people they were expecting, it's not hard to go to free to play. It's a hell of a lot harder for a game to launch with no monthly fee and then migrate towards a monthly subscription plan.

Dude. This x 1000. People don't realize how their whining for FTP games has destroyed the game scene. A game sub is like THE cheapest entertainment possible this side of watching your porch railing rust. If a game is good, pay the sub to KEEP the game good (and also to fund future good quality projects down the road).
I prefer sub than pay to win. Neverwinter is pay to win as are other free MMOs. being free to play gives a company excuses to have low quality "It's free, bro"
I prefer subscription if the game deserves it and is full featured and keeps me entertained. If it is "average" or "ok" then I won't pay monthly. I will pay monthly for one MMO and only the best MMO on the market for me.

No, and it's not because i have something against subscription based model, it's a model i actually prefer.
I am simply not a fan of the idea that an Elder Scrolls game should be so heavy focused around PvP.

Hey,
i will have a look at it, after 1 or 2 month´s.
after you buy the box,
all sub games give the first month free for new accts
if i have enough fun during the first month -- that will determine if i want to continue w a monthly sub

I didn't vote because there is no option for Yes, I would pay a monthly sub if the game is fun to play and I enjoy it.
That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming!
Skipping it if its f2p or b2p
ill play it for a few months if its p2p.
