Guys I'd just like to take a minute to point out a few things a lot of people probably don't realise about this game.
First of all, this is a very revolutionary time for the MMORPG itself, both the concept of the game, and the kickstarter, and the "stick it to the man" way that Mark Jacobs is doign this game. If CU funds, it may very well give birth to the games we've all wanted to be made for years, games that we've made posts about on these forums over and over for years, but nobody will make them because their hands are tied by publishers.
Secondly, we have some very talented guys working on this project, who are putting their own livelyhood, and the future of their company on the line with CU. Mark Jacobs cannot afford to release a sub par game, he is going to put his heart and his soul in this game to make it the very very best he has ever made. Not only for us who love the game, but also for the naysayers who think he is going to fail.
This is going to be a game made "For Gamers, By Gamers". Instead of one made by gamers, then shaped to fit the publisher's needs. What this means is, its going to be just as if one of us guys here at MMORPG.com inherited a gaming company, and could make any game you wanted to with no restrictions from anyone, other than technology. The only difference is, this is what they do for a living, they know how to lay out a project, an idea, and make it happen.
I sincerely believe that once the founders forums open up, if we say an aspect of the game completely sucks, that Mark will do his best to fix it before release. I really believe that he will listen to what we have to say, unlike most game companies, we may actually have a say in how this game gets created, some of our ideas might even be added in to the game. As long as its not against the founding principles, and technically possible to do without rebuilding fromt he ground up, I wouldn't see why not to be honest.
You have all seen the things Mark and Andrew have done in the past so you know they have what it takes to make a technically sound game. Things like Skyrim, DAoC, Darkness Falls, and more. And now they have the reigns, they have full control of this project, I know without a shadow of a doubt that they will not allow this game to be a total disappointment.
So when you invest in this game, you're not only investing in CU, you're investing in the future of games.
Now lets all go stick it to the man whos been pushing bad games on us for the past 5-8 years, and make this thing happen!
We don't want any more polished turds!

I appreciate the effort, but I do not think making claims like this helps our cause:
"If CU funds, it may very well give birth to the games we've all wanted to be made for years, games that we've made posts about on these forums over and over for years, but nobody will make them because their hands are tied by publishers."
This is coming from a $5K backer who has invested more than just about anyone: CU is not the messiah of MMORPGs or games. When we the fans start to write posts like this, we come off as nutty zealots and it reflects poorly on CU, CSE, and us. Let's stick to the facts and support the game in a fair and balanced manner. Anything past that and you give trolls awesome ammunition and that does not serve our purpose.
Like I said, I applaud the intent, I just do not think this is the right way to do things.
Guild Wars 2 wasn't supposed to be a total disappointment either. Collecting firewood and jumping puzzles rofl.
truth is, there is no game yet. I too want to end world hunger and create world peace but ideals are far from the truth. If you want cold harsh facts, the man's latest game was from 2008. Further, it was not the second coming of jesus and given his track record, his success as you guys view was more than 10 years ago. Also, this guy has plenty of money apparently so if we stick to the facts, this ks is just to get money he was not willing to invest while the potential profits will be for him and the company.
Just some food for thought. It's your money so if you feel the need to fund him, do it. Just realize what you are doing, clinging your small hopes to a project that may or may not be developed.
The only reason to support CU:
Because you think it will be a game you want to play.
