1.) Full PvP isn't my thing and gets boring very quickly.
2.) Lots and lots and lots of fancy words with practically nothing to show. I know its a kickstarter so its not started but it promises a lot that, lets face it, many its going to fail to deliver on, or fall short of.
3.) Details are vague on a lot of components. Does strike me as being an easy way of allowing compromise on how things will actually be implimented. Could be fine with compromises mind you, but it could lead to some elements people want being lack luster.
4.) Creator's previous work also showed great promise, failed to deliver.
5.) Rampant fanbois making it look dumber to invest on the project. (Sorry, but you are when you gloat on about it every 5 seconds and bash anyone who doesn't support a very vague idea. Of which I bet point 1 will be all they read and comment about it.))
So yeah, 0 interest in investing. I wish you luck in getting what you want, just... please don't get absorbed so blindly into the hype.
I usually try out all MMO's so of course i pledged too Get the game cheap so I can try it out, not like $25 for a game is gonna kill my wallet like the epic fails of GW2, SWTOR, RIFT or Any other games.
At $25 i easily risk a game to epic fail as long as it sounds fun.
not like gameplayvideos or info have Kept me from buying epic fails like SWTOR and GW2 either.........
This is a good point, and may be why I end up pledging, Cause I really do lack faith.
I think it's more a case of haters trolling an idea of what had the potential to be very innovative mmo idea just because they didn't like warhammer which ppl need to realise was mostly screwed up by EA. it works both ways here, dont slag off an idea because YOU don't like it. If ppl don't like pve that's fine, don't invest as your not wanted if your not interested. This is a game for all mmo players sick off the dumbed down, hand holding, Disney inspired pve games where u spend most your time on your own going from point A to kill 300 rabbits and take them back to point B, then once you max your char u make another and do it alllll over again.
Wow, I've been out on a bunch of forums recently and I never really understood why mmorpg was considered a four letter word until now. I'm going to outright ignore the inane comments of the delusional conspiracy theorists because I left my tin foil hat next to my power crystal in my dungeon.
You get a guy with 30 years development experience whose resume includes a game that literally created Realm vs. Realm, large scale gameplay. A game considered by critics and fans to be one of the best PvP MMOs ever. A guy who has opened his own shop specifically to get away from the big publishers who we all know absolutely ruin games. He gets a lead dev from Skyrim to join him and then he asks us, the mmorpg gaming community if we'd like an mmorpg that is 100% PvP. No one has tried releasing a game like this so he uses Kickstarter which should be a place to fund ideas (not pre-order a game like asshats who call themselves Lord British are doing).
He's given us 13 Principles that will guide development. If you played Dark Age of Camelot you don't need to know anything more about the classes or the gameplay. If you haven't played the game, go read about it. The classes and gameplay were some of the best mmo's had to offer.
You like PvE? Great, this isn't the game for you. You nervous about backing an idea, ok I certainly understand that, check back in a couple of years. But understand, that is what you mean when you say 'There isn't enough information'. Kickstarter projects aren't for you then, or at least true Kickstarter projects. For a lot of us though, a true Kickstarter project is EXACTLY what we want. The level of access to Mark Jacobs and his team has already FAR surpassed anything I've ever seen or heard about before. When this game is released it's going to feel like 'our' game, not just CSE's game. That's exciting shit for a guy like me who has literally been gaming since he first learned which way to properly insert a 5 1/4" floppy disk into his massive Texas Instruments drive. It's also exciting for the vast majority of backers who have been made to feel like it is truly 'our' game by Mark and CSE. That's why we are all rabid fanboi's - this is our game.
I also honestly question the idea that so many of you buy games based on the visuals. "Lets see gameplay footage" is such a bs thing to say because that is a video - you can't really tell how a game is going to play based on a video. I'd be willing to bet that a huge percentage of you have played Minecraft and that freaking game is built with lego's. It's not the visuals that makes that game so much fun - it's the gameplay. You can absolutely describe Minecraft's gameplay, just as CSE has described CU's gameplay. You can also try to question whether CSE can deliver on it's promises but these guys have delivered before so I don't see that as a valid argument.
Just say you don't have the stomach or the money for backing a game at the idea stage. But don't try to cast shadow's on CSE or try to come up with bs excuses that try to subtely suggest CSE doesn't know what they are doing.

I am actually surprised that the Bleached Bones tier ($25 pledge) hasn't sold out. If you are even mildly interested in playing this game, you would be getting it for probably half what it will cost at release in addition to guaranteed Beta 3 access and some other goodies.

Have to agree with this. From the sound of some of the comments on these forums you would think CSE was asking people to donate their kidneys. But just $25? Or even just $5 to show support? Lunch costs $5.

Pretty much this ^^
If you are at all interested in the game and say you will back the game once it is Funded or buy it when it is Released.
Then why not help make sure it is Funded and Released and pledge $1 or $5 or for as low as $25 you get a copy of the game some free play time and beta access and some other things. No real reason to not help out if you're interested.
If the Kickstarter doesn't Fund you are never charged anyways so there is no obligation or reason to worry. You won't be charged till May 2nd or 3rd and only if the game succesfully funds, there isn't much risk and you can remove your pledge at any time before it closes without penalty.
Plus as a backer you get to help develop and shape the game through discussion, polls, feedback, testing, etc.
Bottom Line is you get way more back in return then what you put in money wise through these Kickstarter Tiers / Packages, it is far better then what you get for pre-ordering or waiting till release and buying it, and it is also a lot cheaper if you do one of the low tiers.

30 years... And one good game.........
Oregon Trail!!
And only good from 2001-2003, when ToA came out.
