Basically all the instant satisfaction items you puit down.
I picked easy progress. any game that you can max in less than a month should be put to death.
I'm not for grinding either. Personalliy I think that games should have a "monster tracker" i.e.You've killed 100 boars sorry you can learn nothing more when fighting them no exp for you.
Play what you Like. I like SWOTR, Have a referral to get you going! --> http://www.swtor.com/r/nBndbs <-- Several Unlocks and a few days game time to make the F2P considerably easier
As you can imagine I dislike most of these, hence I listed them. But my big one is the 1v1 pvp balance all developers seem to strive for. The only people who want that are the sort of idiots who spam duel requests, and frankly I don't want to play a game with that sort of person.

Gear grind and mandatory raiding are the things I hate most. If an MMO has end game gear grind and raiding these days, I instantly shelve my toons when they hit level cap and roll an alt.

Agree. Can not be bothered grinding end game; I just have no urge whatsoever to do raids.
I was tempted towards swift progress, but then I considered it for a minute or two and decided that it's actually the solo-centric gameplay that is creating the swift progress, so that was my vote. Solo centric is a mix of a few of those poll options, with voice acting, everyones the hero stories, and swift progress, mainly because they're designed to be played much like a single player game. The multiplayer part of a solo-centric game appears to be very much an afterthought to the 'single player game' that the developers have created.
For PvP, Aion and GW do it right in my opinion. In Aion, there are designated areas for open PvP, so if you hunt there, you hunt there at your own risk. There are also quests that take you to enemy territory. Boy, those are fun. PvP in GW is done in arenas to make the playing field level. That's cool.
Gear grind, I don't oppose progression but when the entire game revolves about continually implementing new and better gear to chase it just becomes a distressing chore.

Do you, by extension, despise any sort of RMTs - including those not sanctioned by the game itself? Because I can't think of an MMO without official or unofficial RMTs.
I don't like voice acting, because that means the game uses scripted events and thus will have scripted storylines.
That's possibly the worst idea I can say is ruining MMORPGs. Scripted events and storylines. Generally because the online world is not meant to be scripted to that point. If developers are going for continuous development, voice acting is going to cost them heinous amounts of money.
I wonder how many people actually have the sound on when they play MMORPGs anyways....
I played WoW up until WotLK, played RoM for 2 years and now Rift. I am F2P player. I support games when I feel they deserve my money and I want the items enough. I don't troll, and I don't take kindly to trolls.
Since the classes are generally not balanced, the Caster or Healer classes generally are the easiest to kill unless your looking at a team based PVP setup.
Then in most games, 10 levels difference is HUGE. IF a Level 1 cannot beat a level 10, what makes the same developers think a level 10 can beat a level 20 and so on. Generally with level comes better armor / weapons / potions and so on.
Anyone of these features in extremes will really kill an MMO for me, especially since I played these features in an extreme combination for awhile I.E. WoW. Vanilla to Cata, (couldn't get into MOP). So i did vote but I think i'll put the multiple I feel are important in order of significance for me.
1. Everyone is the same via homogenization.
This bother's me so much because it's usually doesn't end up this way from the start. Its a slow process that breaks down any unique choices/aspects that your character may have. Through changing how attributes work, changing skills and their mechancs, and eliminating/changing potential choices to be made through the customization system (talents etc). My character should be more then just oh I am one part/mixed part of the trinitry (tank, heals, dps). I want to be able to make some significant choices on how my character performs and my "class" should bring some unique aspects to the table that other classes can not bring. If this makes assembling a group a bit more difficult fine, but each different build brings something new and significant to the table or they should.
2. Dungeon finders.
I get it, not everyone has the time or desire to socialize to build a group but this really did kill most of the social elements on various mmos outside of guilds. Add in the fact they are almost always cross server and you kill any shot at a community you could of made. If someone is a dick, doesn't play well, etc well chances are you'll never see them again and if you do you'll have forgot about them. However at the same time no one wants to talk or forge any kind of bond... why because its rare that you'll be playing with them again. Add on to the fact that every new group in most modern MMO's don't want to spend more then half an hour completing a dungeon or group event (if that) so there really isn't any time to bond anyways. Now that may be a shot at newer players but the tools presented also encourage this behavior.
I miss when MMO's truly shined when people socialized outside of trolling and banal arguments of the dreaded general chats in capitol citys and important quest hubs. Now its like everyone scurrys into the shadows of their guild chats all the while talking shit or arguing in general chat and with little disregard.. .why because thats how it always is. There is no community because its rare outside of your guild to ever really have to interact with people on the same server that you may bump into later. Dungeon finder.... dumbing down the genre again yeaaaaa!
3. Linear Gear Grind/Progression.
I am torn on this but I think if your only form of progression in "end game" is chasing down never ending tier sets or just gear in general it gets very mundane quickly. I for one like things that are challenging and have time investments in them but at the same time their should be more progression options. I think WoW ironically has done a good job with this though (from what I hear) with all the mini games, achievements, etc in the game now. All too often though I have run into the wall, where I just don't want to step foot in another raid for awhile but while im in this hiatus the only options for me are to stop playing or level/play an alt who will inveitably run into that same wall. I guess this could more effectively titled:
End game... Lack of Variety.
4. Everyone/you are the hero stories.
This gets pretty old honestly. I am hero for doing everything in this damn town. I get it, it is enjoyabel at the end of a quest line to be left felt like you are admired, respected, or praised, but after even some of the most mundane quests. Oh, its the hero of X town, he killed 12 bears... yea!!! Where are all the npcs with backbones who can look you straight in the face and go, heres your payment.. what do you want a cookie, you completed your job. Where did all the group quests go? I mean if this guy I am supposed to hunt down and kill is such a bad ass, why are you only sending me? This makes the game world feel like its never bigger then you. This transfers into my next point
5. Overly solo centric gameplay.
I get it solo gameplay is important but when you can solo everything why would you ever group? This kind of feels like the pve/pvp dichotomy that can split a community of an MMO apart. What little unified communitys are left that is...
Why did you list all the good things of the MMORPG genre, and none of the bad ones? (Excessive downtime; excessive travel time; weak core game systems (like combat if a game is combat-focused); not enough mob variety; etc)
What a bizarre poll.

Well since we could not pick more then one i chose dungeon finder but ill likst the other features i would have also picked...
- Solo-centric Gameplay
- Lack of defined rolls
- Insta travel
- Swift / easy Progress
- Everyone is the Hero stories
- Balance Achieved through Homogenisation
Those are pretty much themeparky features. I would like to remove the whole themepark idea from the MMO genre coming time pls
But, to still answer the poll, the gear/grind advantage is the one I dislike the most.
Yes, most all of them. See EVE which has almost none of the described.
In fact, make a MMORPG just like EVE only based around a fantasty world and I'm in for another 5 years CCP.

Heres my lsit in no particular order:
Voice Acting-fine in single player game, despise in MMO
Cutscenes-same. fine in single player not for MMO tho
Too story driven-Dont like the sotry being the entire game focus
TOo easy-Dont like MMOs where getting to end game is trivial
Gear grinding raiding/arenas. Wouldn't do it again, ever.
And
Instancing and Phasing, dislike them, and I think it's lazy devs that put it in mmo's.
