Is anyone here offended by these adds? IMHO they don't belong on this site. When my wife first saw the adds with the four magazine covers as she was walking by she thought I was looking at anima porn.
Maybe I'm just getting old and need to look the other way and or find a new site. Can anyone suggest a good MMO site?

Why not gently explain to your wife that a company making a game you have no interest in are conducting an ad campaign on a forum about MMOs you frequent and that you have no control over which adverts are shown.
simple, mature, honest.
Think my wife has less problems with me watching porn as a healthy man then watching (and playing) games hahahahaha.

I think they are retarded and insulting,...but they have every right to be there.
My wife is a gamer like me met her in EQ. She for the most part has no problem with the adds other then like me she feels they don't belong here. That is the problem not the adds.
Though she does not like the use of woman in a sexual way to sell a video game but that has nothing to do with my original post.

I don't see intercourse/sexual acts or other indecent nudity shown?
Or the OP must live in a country where the government sees showing off anything more then a few women eyes or bare ankles as porn or live sin a country where they are complete hypocrits.

It is an advert for a game, the game has scantily clad characters and the ad reflects that, this is an MMO website, the advert belongs here, you not liking them is a different matter.
There have been umpteen threads about this already with hundreds of posts for and against. I presume other game sites also work on a commercial basis so unless you can find one like ChristianMMO.com I imagine you will find you have the same issue.
You're adults and you find this offensive? I'd say you two are way to thin skinned and would have to find an site without adds. That would be the only way to lessen the chance you could find anything that would offend you guys. You folks get out much?
Massively doesn't have full page ads, but it also doesn't have a forum. I haven't seen a single Scarlet Blade ad there. You can comment on the articles, but they don't have the forums that this site does, which is really the only reason to come here.
I believe this is what is called "The Spotlight Effect".
Remember back in school when something awkward happened and you couldn't stop thinking about it all class? That everyone will laugh at you forever because of it? That's what this is. These men are ashamed because their wives might have misunderstood the context. When their wives walked away and forgot about it, these men couldn't stop thinking about it.
Best way to solve this? Like you said explain it and be done with it.

I feel were a dying bread these days but its nice to know others do feel the same way. To the post above it would be nice to know I can come to my gaming news site and not have to worry about kids walking by and being exposed to the adds.
Maybe you should move to amish country? Your bread is baked, mate. There is full frontal nudity on the telly during lunch hours and partial nudity in just about every film and add there is. Probably more indecent ads on the billboards in your capital city than on this site.
It's a PR trick of course. You don't seriously believe that the iPhone is the only smartphone there is right?
