This. Then maybe go look upthe Rifterlings corp. They specialise in newbie PvP.
Give me liberty or give me lasers
i think i have a 2-3 mill sp char. i was in the middle of the sisters of eve arch i believe is what it's called. that mission you do after the tutorials. i wanted to specialize in exploration and have a nice cloaked ship
edit: on second thought it might of just been over a million.. i'm not sure..
I think you're going to really enjoy Odyssey.
Check out the new corp finder in game and see if that elps you find a group with your hours/interests. Also, check out the player organizations page in EVElopedia for some of the corps looking to take in newbies and help get them started.
Tomorrow is EVE Online's 10th anniversary, so you've got a fun week ahead of you.
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

Odyssey won't really impact you as much as many returning players but there is a shit ton of 'new' old coming. From redesigned Battle Ships to Navy Battle Cruisers.
They have the Gnosis BC now and they are selling for under 100 mill. Use it with some caution, stay out of low sec and don't get too over confident but if you have any medium Gun skill and some fittings basics, meta 4 fit it and go do missions. Scout for a Corp or alliance, never let them have access to your Gnosis. Hard rule in EVE. Always have a back up.
You will know in a month or so if it's where you want to be.
Which leaves you free to play with someone else's wife, right?
What?

Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.
