AdrenAdren Member UncommonPosts: 69
Think they will ever add GvG? not this custom sPvP stuff, but real GvG and let ppl watch and hold tournaments like in gw1. supposedly GvG isnt lore friendly from what i heard but it would be a great addition to Gw2 dont you think?

But.. isn't the game GUILD WARS (2)? It seems like a feature should be.. ya know.. .guild wars.

from what i remember back when the game was being made GvG was ommited mostly because they wanted guilds spending more time in WvW and their plans were to flesh out WvW as much as possible to make guilds want to be in there.. makes sense since for WvW you need a large population of people constantly playing for it to work

I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg

Yeah it does make sense. I don't play Guild Wars 2 (bought it and didn't play it long), is WvW worth doing?

that's hard to say.. depends what "worth doing" means to you

That's funny because as I was typing that I out I thought to myself, "what if they bring this question up? Nahhh" Lol. Perhaps a better question would be, aside from the joy(?) of doing it, do you get anything to improve your character over someone who doesn't partake in WvW (gear, cosmetics, etc)?

    I really enjoy WvW.

However, I do want GvG to make a comeback. The new area control and movement based combat would make it very interesting.

There is also a very selfish reason to want GvG...it requires Guild Halls :)

they added a bunch of passive stuff in the march update you can see here http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/03/26/flameseeker-chronicles-guild-wars-2s-march-update/

and ranks and such like linked above

then in this recent update they added some more passives, guild back banners and guild seige weapons.. but again depends on the type of player you are and  if thats enough incentive or not and how much you actually enjoy the combat..

The title is actually a lore based one on the original "Guild Wars", which was a series of wars between human nations of Tyria that eventually caused so much mistrust that nations destroyed themselves from the inside out (see Orr and it's sinking).  The title is not based on some crazy notion of Guild-vs-Guild, though that was a coincidental feature of the first, it's by no means a main focus of the game or a feature of the 2nd.   In fact, the 2nd one could be more or less about the internal "war" between members of Destiny's Edge after their breakup, but then their eventual reband.

Yes, it's "worth doing".    Because it's fun.  The arrow cart update has made arrow carts super powerful; combined with other updates they've done and the ballista one from March, siege is now the GOLDEN RULE instead of the exception.  Conflicts are drawn out battles of ebb and flow that move across the maps.   Gear has become easier to obtain in WvW, so as to no require PvE if one chooses to not PvE.  They've added many skin varieties to choose from for WvW as well.

Overall, it's the matter of whether it's "fun".  And fighting in a field for 20 minutes while arrows, ballista, and dozens of catapults and trebs fire back and forth in a hail-fire of explosions between the Garrison and Dawns is FUN! Also insane, but FUN!

Hopoefully they add it in with the first expansion but it was not a great decision to not have it in from launch.

Great game otherwise but G vs G and guildhouses needs to be added.

Hmmm, seeing this, I have a feeling on when they will do something like GVG. In fact the two can help eavh other, like rewards and etc.

I might get banned for this. - Rizel Star.

I'm not afraid to tell trolls what they [need] to hear, even if that means for me to have an forced absence afterwards.

P2P LOGIC = If it's P2P it means longevity, overall better game, and THE BEST SUPPORT EVER!!!!!(Which has been rinsed and repeated about a thousand times)

Common Sense Logic = P2P logic is no better than F2P Logic.
