I don't know about you guys, but in my pvp experiance i have come across some monks as a primary or even secondary proffession who i found to be just un killable, especially when fighting multiple monks... The heal much more and much faster then damage can be delt to them even when 2-3 ppl are trying to bring them down.... I think that mink healing needs to be nerfed.... Healing is a privalage not an abusive unbeatable skill, i think the best way to balance this out better would be to make it so that monks (primary or secondary) should take double damage while using a healing skill. This way they can still heal as much, only they need to be in the right situation to do it.
At any rate if things arn't changed i'm gonig with the if ya can't beat em, join philosophy and am making a W/Mo character of my own ^^

if you have a mesmer, you could own monks so easily, all you need is backfire them,and suck all there energy to zero, then cast that spell that when your enemy have zero energy they get hurts like hell, also if they try to run away, just slow them down, monks are beatable.
Monks are way beatable.
I played one for 3 beta weekend events.
Mesmer's tore me apart majorly. I would shiver when i saw those pink hex icons at the top corner.
Snares, energy tapping, backfire tear monks up quick.
I think monks are fine like they are, it's just a matter of how you fight against them, just like going up against a warrior class or the Necro's.
Remember, 95% of players are still newbies. The level of strategy involved in Guild Wars combat is enormous - Monks are extremely powerful right now because most players don't grasp the more advanced tactics behind countering their abilities. As soon as the game and its players evolve, it will be an entirely different playing field.
Most players I encountered in random PvP games did not know to take out the Monk first, in fact. I couldn't believe the amount of people I saw rush to the first warrior they saw and start hacking away at them while their Monk stands by healing away. That's a prime example, and going for the Monk first shouldn't even be considered a tactic... it's common sense.
And yet, when I played as a Monk the groups that protected me well always succeeded. If they went off and did their own thing, the smart player would run straight for me and, my group having lost its backbone due to improperly choosing targets, almost always failed.
Let the players and their tactics evolve before crying nerf. Monk is an extremely difficult class to play against smart competitors.
hehe u need monks for the PvP part of the game it's 8v8 and you dun lose as badly if you have monks on your side

Dont nerf the monks just get better at playing the game. all classes have strengths and weaknesses, why if i hated monks the way you do i would bitch about it i'd go build me a ranger /mesmer and utterly wipe the floor with him and every other caster.
spend time learning how the game work before you start moaning about nerfs, Gw is one of the most balanced games i've ever played
For your infromation i have played this beta alot and came to this conclussion after hours and hours of pvp gameplay and few beta events, over the 3 days in the march beta i only slept about 14 hours out of the 72 that the beta ran, thoguh this past event i cashed in on some more sleep.... So as far as game paly ecperiance goes i got it, and thsi is my opinion and not a whiney complaint!
Most monks do not pose as a probelm, I have a necro/mesmer char it it usually works well accept for the occasional player who seems to be able to heal more the i can hurt them even when nuking them with life transfer, energy burn, power surge and what ever else i have in my arsenol. This usually happens When fighting multiple monks and they heal each other making it near impossible to kill them unless i got a few wars with me, but there was an instance where it was me and another player trying to kill a War/Mo who was killnig our priest at the tombs, and with no one else around we has able to ignor us and hack away, even though we were both unloading all we had on him, we couldn't even get his health below 50%. It seemed unbalanced, maybe it was jsut the healing spells he was using i don't know. But i've also seen some 1v1 battles between War/Mo 's that ahve lasted for 5 + minutes, until one of them jsut res's another party member to tip the scale, and even then the loosing war/mo put up a good fight with the healing.......
And like i said before, if i can't beat em i'll join them and go for a cheap character of my own.... Just like in games liek SC and WAR3 there are cheesey cheap builds and the War/Mo may turn out to be just that for GW.
Otherwise my micro and build is good, i am simply commenting and pointing out some possible things that need to be balanced out....
And incase you have not read my solution to the the possible problem, it would in no way make it so that the monks ahve less healing ability By having monks take excesive damage while using healing spells it would make it so that monks need to use more strategy and will need a safe location from, which to heal from instead of mindelssly clicking away keeping everythnig in site alive.......
How ever you apear to be an advocate of mindless clicking games, why not go paly anotehr game if you do not like to micro......

First, if you and another player could not kill that player, probably you did something wrong, you can always rearange your aributes so that desired skill be more efective. And playing one whole beta weekend without sleep dont make you an expert, it makes you tired

I tanked thru the monks with my W/Mo... i wasnt a party healer btw... my job in pvp was to search out the monks, and take them out with a few swings of a sword... no problem.
LOL..The game isn't released yet and the Whiners are wanting Nerf bats swung already LMFAO!!
Then again..This is Kiddie heaven (Free online play) so I will never know this game at release

a few swing of sword? wait are you crazy or the monk was just a newb? because you can't kill a full healer monk, they got pacifism man, maybe the guy didnt know or didn't use it. Its a skill that make u invincible to melee attacks, or it is when it makes u cannnot attack at all..I forgot but its one of them. And yeah they heal more than you hit btw, you hit them 4+ hits, one heal of theirs could replace those...So one warrior have small chance killing a monk, but a group is not a problem at all, none.
i say the monk is the most annyoing char in the game right now, since they heal and heal like hell, takes forever to kill, and they res too, arg! i hate when they do that
