I like the look of the game and animation's.The questing is like WoW,but I think it's better. It has a nice crafting system and a wide variety of mount's/mount types. There's a nice abundance of class/race choice's.Considering when the game launched, the character creator is decent also.
UO is a game at the top of my list, the thing is I can't play the game anymore for the graphic's.It give's me headache's after playing for a period of time.Other than that it would be my 1st pick.
I would not be interested in playing any of the new mmorpgs for 5 years. If you would make this offer years ago I would have choosen probably WoW or ww2online.
I have played 2 mmos for over 5 years total each so far, UO and EQ.
So if I had to pick, I wouldl take a chance and say EQNext, and I would personally prefer it to be p2p, and avoid questionable p2w temptations that creep into some f2p titles. I have not played SoEs versions of f2p yet, so I do not know if they fall victim to this or not.
None, there just isn't enough content in any current or past game to make me want to stick around for 5 years. As I've said before, if they could make a game as content-rich as Skyrim and as large as a planet, that might be enough to do. Otherwise, pass.
EverQuest 2 would be my pick also. This is my go to MMOG whenever I get bored with the "next new thing". More than likely I probably still would not have seen and done everything the game has to offer when the five years was up.
EQ1 on a time locked progression server up to PoP, which works out to be
Year 1: Classic
Year 2: Kunark
Year 3 Velious
Year 4 Luclin
Year 5 PoP
That would do me just fine.
i'd be down for that.
but I think i've finally found my EQ replacement in DC Universe online. flippin fantastic game.. that delivers very challenging content, immersive world, and unbelieveably fun and skillfull combat. Not quite the depth of group dynamics of EQ but its closest I've found since I quit EQ in 2004. I really feel like I've found a home in DCUO even though im more of a fantasy geek.
Which is ironic because after SOE defiled, disgraced, and polluted EQ into an unrecognizable mess of crap, and then made that shitstorm atrocity called EQ2 which is more like Diablo2 than EQ, I swore that i'd never give SOE another penny... so it was with a heavy heart and great reluctance that I fell in love with DCUO.
From what's currently avaliable right now as it is and "free of charge" I would go with WOW.
Free character transfer would ensure I'm not stuck on a noob server and depending on noobs that would limit my experience due to lack of pupulation and choices. Also I could maintain my original name at all times when I decide to play an alt through a name change, which is a must since Blizzard nerfs and buffs different classes all the time.
Raiding in the long run is meaningless and PvP abused over the limit, but it's still more epic than anything avaliable. Unfortunately, Blizzard is too greedy and it will earn no dime off me for wanting too much for something it's suppose to offer for free.

If I could choose a dead game, I'd choose Star Wars Galaxies pre-cu.
For living games, I'd probably pick World of Warcraft just because that game sucks the least of every terrible MMO that has come out since SWG (imo).
For future games, my hope lies with Star Citizen.
None...
I just play MMo´s as long as i have fun with them (which is anything from a dew weeks to a few months) and switch to another one after that.
So playing a single MMO for 5 years is not an option for me.
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

I think EQ2 is a good choice OP,but mine would be without question FFXi.
This would of course assume "Free to PLAY",not the fake f2p as we know it.AKA cash shops, item malls.
To spice things up maybe we should have asked to ignore our favorite game.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

The game is not out yet, but for the next 5 years it would have to be Camelot Unchained.
Probably will play Final Fantasy 14 A Realm Reborn or The Elder Scrolls Online until CU comes out though.

Some day I'm going to put a sword through your eye and out the back of your skull!
Arya Stark
The definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

My pick would be EVE Online.
I started playing when there was less than 10000 people online at a time.
It seems that the more people that play the more brutal the game has gotten.
I left the game when the GOONS started running things.
But if it was free I would play it again.
i'd be down for that.

Starcraft oldschool aka wise/04. SWG/UO aka Wise HeRo, Light Jedi Knight pre-cu (Bria)
this ^^
Eve is one of the rare beasts i couldnt understand yet with the trail but i know what is behind.
Eve could for sure entertain me for years ... hmm, maybe i should sub there and seriously try it ?!
I got 3 of them, but I think the first one would be my pick, if I had to pick one.
If I never played it before and it was October 10, 2001: Dark Age of Camelot
If the cash shop wasn't so expensive, and Ranger and Druid was released: Neverwinter
If none of the above: World of Warcraft
Probably TSW, but I'd need to fix the issues with my video card overheating.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
