Being active on forums is one way to help genre evolve in the right direction. I'm very thankful to so many posters over the years who've been helpful enough with their insight and thanks to that I've dodged the bullet many times and saved $ as well as time.

After thousands of post one could think you would be capable to replay to a threads without making pathetic attempts at mocking OP's, but I guess everyone at their own pace. If I did actually follow your "advice" I would indeed do something else than that with my time.

Only "brainless idiots play these mmos" was a compliment ?

If your opinion really was helping to evolve the genre in the right direction why is your opinion " go back to the way it was" ..... if they were going in the right direction why are they moving away from what you want ?

and last thing...after thousands of posts you learn what these threads really are and don't waste your time trying to convince you mmos are worth playing. You're looking for a support group to bitch about them, not hear positive things about the games.

The funniest part is that those of you who just joined this site 2 months ago think you're inventing the topic. News for you...we already have wheels.

But your only responses in the thread have been to disagree with those who don't agree with you and re-state your disdain for games that could only possibly appeal to "5-6 year olds" i.e, anyone who disagrees with you is an immature child.

"Feigned existential depression" fits you and all bored MMO hipsters in this site like a glove. Perhaps something other than dictionary dot.com might give you some insight about that one particular form of depression known as existential.

I never showed sadness or expressed boringness. Go read my thread again where it says "Good thing I can find other ways to kill time beside gaming". If anything I showed insight and optimism as well as satisfaction and shared my opinion on what it will take for the genre to evolve further.

And yes, you walk like a duck and talk like a duck so you must be a duck.

Let me explain it to you: what you're telling us ids that if we don't share your jaded opinion about MMOs we are unsophisticated children. That is the basic premise of all of you who continuously post this same bullshit on this site under different titles.

Children are the best example and metaphor used for ignorance and lack of experience, which is crucial for one to enjoy what's handed to him. It is not a negative and bad thing to have a child like interest, unlike how you perceive it.

Your continual desperate attempts to twist the statements and misuse wording, even lie yourself to make you feel better and keep posting for the sake of arguing is just further evidence of endless trolling, which I won't have time for. That being said, I'm done with you.

Nice trolling of the OP but he is entitled to seek evolution of the genre he has enjoyed for so long. We experience and expect progression in almost everything in life so why not here. To be honest you are coming across as jaded with regards to people who expect more. Are you a dev who keeps failing to deliver?

Well when I felt pretty jaded about MMO's after leaving WoW and AoC two of the mmos I've played longest I just took a break from the genre and gaming in general.  Too much of a anything tends is bad sort of a situation you know? For me Im pretty happy with whats about there in terms of diversity I know none are true sandboxes or have the glitz wow had in my eyes for the longest time but to me there are some gems out there

Playing: TSW, D&D NW, Defiance (more the tv show than game >.> ) LotRO, DCUO

Well, as much as I enjoy a fairly even exchange of condescension and veiled insult, this thread isn't exactly offering any new insights.

Let's see the OP's posting history... First post ever was this exact same topic here at the pub except that time he called it "Ways we can improve the state of MMOs"

Same MO...insulted everyone by calling them "cavemen" and referring to the 1 or 2 who sort of bought what he was selling as "the only intelligent posts on this thread." Gee... how does he feel about those who disagree I wonder?

And he topped it off by including this remarkable statement "Companies need to read and monitor MMO forums as these and contact players who they believe are "gods of gaming". I would gladly help a company..." Post #19

Ok, I'm out. Just thought you'd like to know what you're dealing with here.

Wheels, really?  Woah, I thought we still had to walk everywhere.  Basically, you thought the same thing when you joined this website 5 years ago.  It's only natural to assume that anything outside of your experience hasn't been achieved before.  You shouldn't hate on noob gamers so much as they will surpass us one day.

I don't hate on all noobs...not even most of them. Just the ones who think they know everything.

Agreed, it does require a certain IQ to believe that.  Particularly in light of all evidence pointing to MMORPGs being played largely by 30+ gamers.
