We like raiding so Rift seem to be the best choice right now.
I would wait a few weeks, RIFT becomes F2P in a few weeks.
For raiders it is the right choice. TSW have a better story and unconventional setting while NWN is perfect for people who like building dungeons.
Rifts problem is mainly that it is very Wow/EQ2 like and that the quests often feels "meh" but NWN is even worse there (and the action based combat feels rather poor after Tera and GW2).
But no game is perfect and once you pass leveling you will get plenty of nice raids.
I have just actually recently dove into TSW...AMAZING MMO that actually makes you think for yourself and look shit up to figure out some of the quests...some are a bit too difficult but my god...its actually a challenging MMO which is almost unheard of anymore. It seems to be a bit harder to find a group at lower levels (and really there is no such thing as a level in this game) but the incredibly deep, interesting storylines and cutscenes are totally legit in this game and Funcom got me hook, line, and sinker on this one and it does have some sort of a creepy factor to it too with the setting and all.
So then Rift...yes...great MMO that does kind of take after WoW in a lot of ways. The whole Rift aspect of it is kind of interesting but really only is fun if you are part of a guild that does Rift Raids. I spent a lot of time playing Rift and was in a great guild so I had some great times. I'm not sure at this point if there will be a lot of start up guilds...I would wait for it to go F2P in 3 weeks.
Neverwinter.....another great MMO...completely rife with bugs and downtime for patching purposes...it is at least worth a look if you like the D&D type setting plus the user content in this game is pretty good. You will find however, in this game, you will probably end up wanting or needing to spend some of your own money in the marketplace (I have) to get enchanted keys that open chests that drop as loot and wanting to spend real money on a better mount...etc. But other than its glitchy ways, the downtime and wanting to spend real money, its a great game.
But really if you are looking at one that will keep you wanting to play more for the challenge of an MMO of yesteryear...complete with a pretty steep learning curve....The Secret World is it...probably the most underrated MMO in history.

Well said this is really the best description of all three games. I was going to write my own post by you have saved me the trouble. Much more truthful review regarding these games than some of the other posts I've read lol....
I almost wish I could save this post so I can quote it next time this question comes up. Because people have been asking about these three games a lot lately.
Originally posted by botrytis Rift or GW2 - TSW is just MEH (not that impressive, repetitive, and the models are awful - Like a GTA MMO)
They've actually improved upon the models a lot, they're looking much better than they did at launch. The rest of the game I do find fun though for what it is. It's a fun game to play right now while I wait for TESO and Wildstar.
Neverwinter is a good game but I'd wait to see what the actual damage is from the exploits, you can catch those opinions every. Otherwise Rift is a solid game with more or less traditional MMO elements, and TSW is a great game if you like atmosphere.
If you enjoyed WoW then Rift hands down is the best option.
TSW has great story elements and atmosphere while combat can be desireable, but keep in mind it has creat character building.
Neverwitner is absolute garbage. Horrible combat (rooting in place bugs the hell out of me, and plz don't try to defend it by saying it makes combat more consequential because it absolutely doesn't), cash shop galore (while it isn't mandatory but they put anything and everything in their store. Some say you can earn throug AD but it is a Chinese farmers grindfest), everything that made D&D D&D was not carried or attempted to be carried over.

Neverwinter is just a mediocre themepark on rails corridor feeling MMO in a D&D skin, much like SWTOR was an IP sales pitch. I actually place TSW's story and immersion higher than Neverwinter. The only saving grace on Neverwinter is the Foundry but it is way to limiting. I was expecting what the NWN toolset allowed but the Foundry is way to limiting and completely non-immersive. I felt living in a story in modules like Dawn and Twilight (not the sparkly team Edward emos) where I felt the story of the Paldine you were playing and the trials and betrayal you encountered. This is something that Cryptic completely failed to accomplish along with the Persistent Worlds that was what kept the NWN community going. They should have done a NWN3 and not this MMO D&D skin garbage.
Played Rift six months from launch and then a few months around Cata's launch. Grandmaster owner for TSW like I've said before in previous posts. For classic raiding and endgame I'd probably have to go with Rift. But for everything else for me it be TSW, despite the debate over the combat I absolutely love the game. Neverwinter is going through a rough patch so idk if I'd recommend that atm.
Playing: TSW, D&D NW, Defiance (more the tv show than game >.> ) LotRO, DCUO

If you are going to do a fantasy themepark, EQ2 is a better game than Rift in just about every aspect besides maybe raiding.
But I would honestly go for one of the other two because they are something different.
