i love the wow-esque graphic art style. It gives more longevity to mmos. Realistic mmos get dated before they are even launched. I just wish i can turn off the ground telegraphs so i get that sense of surprise when an enemy lands a skill and automatically make every fight even more challenging and unpredictable.

I like the graphics style as well and it looks to be a fun game for sure. If it can keep me interested for a long time all depends on how they implement end game PvP, so far it does not sound as interesting.

I will surely play the game though because it looks like a fun ride :-)

I think its important to note that stylized graphics are not necessarily cartoony.  Ghost in the Shell, Shiguri, Attack on Titan, Mushishi are all cartoons but not cartoony.  Of course taste is subjective and I like a variety of styles, but this feels a bit childish for a not young man such as myself.  If you want to make stylized graphics for the argument of longevity, fine I can get behind that but that does not mean it needs to be childish/cartoony at the same time, there are adult animations.

Now if Wildstar had Neverwinter Online's approach to combat, rather than the whac-o-mole hot button system, then I would keep playing my beta account. I played an hour and got the WoW heaves, and left!

    Sci-FI Wow...wow that's a new one.

You forgot the hawt bunny eared girls. Very important, since that's what most of the 18 to 32 aged Male demographic will play.

Wrong. I plan on playing Draken. The Mechari also look cool. Both of which are Dominion races.

This game looks beyond a cartoon.

If anyone who said that WoW looked too cartoony and plan on playing this and are fine with the graphics. Please insert your foot in your pie hole.

People just love to hate WOW. Using its art style and graphics against it was just an excuse as you can see that very same people don't mind playing Wildstar now and are actually praising how it looks.

WoW is like Walmart: everybody goes there, but no one wants to admit it.

    (yes, that is hyperbole.)

lol i played the wildstar beta for like 0.5 seconds and then went back to Wow , just because wildstar does not have ugly gfx like wow and dull combat , oh and grindy quests.

    Wow is the bestest mmo...

I've been signed up for this beta for as long as I can remember. They need to get on with it. Firefall OBT starts soon and well.. you snooze you lose.

Letting people in now is the smart choice, give them a taste, unless this game won't/doesn't have what it takes to compete. Which I'm..skeptical of.

To me.....cartoon like graphics relate to the cartoons children watch. They...to me define the target market and its not mature  adults.

Yes WOW has a large player base and many are over 21.....yada yada yada.

It is surprising that a game company would choose an art style knowing it certainly will not appeal to a segment of the gaming market.I guess they feel the slice of the pie they will appeal to...will be big enough.
