From what I can see the Xbox One is an all round entertainment system where as the PS4 is a pure gaming machine. My choice will be the PS4 as I am a gamer.
I already have a cable box for watching television. That includes sports and movies.
I already have to pay a monthly service fee to do that. I don't want to pay an additional service fee to do what I'm already able to do.
I can't help but think Microsoft is kind of flailing about, looking for additional revenue streams, but they are doing it by trying to get people to pay for things that people are already paying for, or that people can get for free.
You don't need to pay extra, seriously people how stupid are you?!? It just allows you to control your cable box, plus play fricking games. So making stuff easier is again bad this?!?
Why make the xbox do it when i payed 150 euro for a damn television box already ? Did i ask for it ? Did i need it ? Did i want it ?
Its not just an extra feature, a significant portion of the design went into a feature that already does the same shit my TV encoder does. Why should i need another one...and pay extra for it ?
Iam buying a gaming machine no ?
Kinda when i go to the store to buy a car and that dude try's to sell me a bike.... It makes no sence, and dont forget thay even think it will be a GREAT succes, dude we hae like 30 channels in total that are worth watching here in europe. We are nothing like in USA where each state has 500 channels lol
They should have focused all that energy and research into making it an even bettter gaming machine instead of trying to reinvent something other devices are much more suited for :P
It will not end well here in Europe with Xbox, none of the people i know do even cosider to buy it now. Most where hardcore Xbox players for years on end, if thats an indication of what is to come then i can assure you there might be some dude's fired not to far from now :P

Nobody bought Wii-U because it was last gen(XBOX360, PS3) system with gimmicky controller. I still think Wii control schema will be future ones Sony and Microsoft gets it.

For me this would be the main reason why I would get it.
I have a sky box, and SKY will be the providers for the UK, so as long as it does everything my Sky Box does, then I could replace the Sky Box with the Xbox ONE, and not only continue to watch TV with it, but play next gen Xbox ONE games too.
Xbox ONE = next gen games console + Sky box, whereas PS4 is just a games console.
If I get a PS4 then it will be an extra box I need to get, and does not replace anything.
Despite the lack of games presentation from the show, it is still assumed it will still get the many games as the Xbox 360 did, and will get just as many games as the PS4.
However I agree with your points from your previous post though, except the bit about less exclusive titles, as that is not known yet. All will be known at E3
I do not like the fact that used games can not easily be shared. Also it is now said that Microsoft will use the Kinect to monitor how many users are viewing content, and if too many people are detected a fee will be applied, and the Kinect will speak, and when a new unidentified person enters the room and into view of the Kinect device, it will ask the to identify themselves and register that person to the console! These are things that are putting me off buying the Xbox ONE, otherwise I would choose it over PS4.
I am sticking to PS3 and Xbox 360 though. Fortunately they have said the Xbox 360 will be supported still for the foreseeable future. If people really do not take to the Xbox ONE, then they will have to rethink things, so I am not buying a Xbox ONE until at least my sky box packs in, which will hopefully last a few more years, so will have to buy another sky box anyway, but if these stupid things are still in place then may just get a better sky box.

Nobody bought Wii-U because it was last gen(XBOX360, PS3) system with gimmicky controller. I still think Wii control schema will be future ones Sony and Microsoft gets it.
The Wii had a gimmicky remote like controller for most of its life but the Wii U has gimmicky controller plus a normal controller from the get go
Also the Wii U is slightly more powerful than Xbox 360 and PS4, and Need For Speed Most Wanted was better than the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, as was coded from the PC version. No doubt done to attract people to buy it, as if it released as same time as Xbox 360 and PS3 it would be the same or worse.
The Wii U could be the best out of the next gen, If the companies would actually support it.
These sources claim that one needs to have to connect to the internet once every 24 hours to play on the console. You must also always have Kinect (or whatever it was) turned on and attached for the console to even work. In addition, you will be unable to play used games on the console (you will have to pay a secondary fee) if the game was already installed on another system (which it checks with the mandatory 24 hour internet connection). Add to that that the system specs are indefinitely inferior to the PS4
The thread should've ended there, honestly. I used to love xbox and microsoft, but just like all these other money grubbing companies ( like EA), they only give a shit about the dollars. Forget making anything quality. Just repackage the same garbage but this time add a ton of red tape to dip into the gamers pocket more. You have to re-buy used games? No thanks. You have to be connected to the internet 24/7? No thanks. The same graphics level as PS3? (this isnt a typo go back and look at the graphics they showed) No thanks. This is next-gen suposedly. Nah, its capitalism at its worst.
Also, don't even get me started that Call of Duty is the only game they talked about. My God.

I don't have a problem with it. I do not like COD but they did use it to show the differences between Xbox 360 and Xbox ONE.
Considering E3 was only 19 days away, they are saving the games until E3. Sony's presentation was months away from E3. The presentation on May 21st was just to reveal the console and what it can do. The TV features will probably take a back seat at E3

The X1 doesn't replace the cable box. The X1 will need to be connected to your cable box for all of it to work, so you'll still need both. Unless you mean the controller aspect of it, in which case it'll take over as the controller (as per my understanding, anyway).

In the UK, it will be using SKY, which is not a cable box its satellite, and I can watch SKY on my Xbox 360 without the SKY box, but what you get to watch depends on your subscription, so will have to see.
Xbox 360 > Sky Box for some of the catch up TV, as Xbox 360 has the option for subtitles on some channels while the Sky Box does not, and the Sky Box downloads it to the HDD whereas Xbox 360 streams it off the internet.
Virgin Media is the main UK TV cable provider, but there is no mention of that. The way SKY works is that you can use your own equipment but must have a SKY subscription.

Aaah. I still think you'll need the box to connect to X1. From the sounds it's not really any sort of receiver, but more of a pass-through so you can leave the TV to your X1's input and never need to change it (of course then getting its controller features).

But could be wrong... they seem to be wishy washy with everything else of importance anyway *rabble rabble*
If it is the case it would not work too well. The Sky boxes are more complex now, and can record 2 or 3 programmes at once, and not get to view the one only signal.
With SKY you can watch on various different equipment, without using the sky box to do so, called Sky GO and can assign a couple of devices to the service for free, but they have introduced Sky GO extra where you can add more devices than two, but you have to pay for it.
If Xbox ONE has to use the sky box then it will be a first. The only thing you need is a SKY subscription
Could be both: If you use Virgin then you may have to use the pass through as they are not joining with Virgin, so you can still use Virgin without moving to SKY.
The thing is if my SKY box break down now I will have to pay for a new one, but if I was with Virgin I would not need to. So if my Sky box breaks down and need to buy a new box and the Xbox One is all I need then I can get that instead of a new sky box
Maybe. I think the 360 had the same deal in Australia with Foxtel. Hopefully it all just works out smoothly and that they didn't take any steps backwards, heh.

EDIT: Wired seems to be saying the same thing. But as i said, this could all end up being wrong and may work with how you said your 360 worked.
It would make no sense not to have the xbox1 replace my skybox. The Xbox 360 did that perfectly fine and you didn't need the sky box. Or do these sources say that MS will remove a functionality on purpose?
@OP, very funny video :P To be honest unless the PS4 offers some significant benefits in terms of gaming I will probably go for the Xbox. It will replace my skybox and most importantly it will give me voice control :P Not needing a remote at all is super sweet. Also you have Kinect. While I do play traditional games a lot, I still like to play some Kinect games for fun. I have had some crazy Kinnect parties and it is quite cool. I think the PS4 will not even bother with their move technology this gen or am I missing something?

Either way, the xbox one is just a slightly upgraded 360 with a few features from the old one and a new menu layout.
