drilling all day to make progress...ppl stealing your spots untill ther dry...helping them gives u trash....hate the crafting, no other viable way to make progress. Nothing here for ppl that hate crafting the drilling the ground all day long for which others steal spot and dont invite. Active events give very low amounts

It is still closed beta. They changed the whole system a few times and now have settled with a final design. I liked how this all developed with the help of the community and they really went back re-balanced, re-designed whole systems.

There will be a last big event this Friday and the open beta will start a month after on June 9th.

I am looking forward to new areas being released and how the whole conquest system will work (us against the melding).

You rather want to grind quests all day? There are plenty of those games around for you to play. I find this game to be refreshingly different.

I never got drilling spots stolen, why would you if you can team up for them.

Not sure if you are one of those MMO players that just want's to be left alone and solo everything or if you making things up. How about using a better drill if you team up, then the rewards are much higher and also the whole drilling becomes a challenge.

I've actually drilled very near others, and have had rather large groups form to defend both. I'm not sure if you can do this at every thumper site, but it seems you can at some.

They ran out of money so are having to essentially release next month.

Harsh, and not true, I believe. They've been sticking to the plan - that nifty graph with the "Where we are" and the progress thing they show in a few loading screens. Open Beta starts in July, and FF is set for release in autumn, which is what they've been saying for quite some time.

Honestly, I thought Firefall was just another piece of shit game with an overpriced store system as well. Also I've experience firefall support enough to think it's also a piece of shit

They've essentially redesigned the whole game several times, each time for the worse. Now it's just one big grind for crafting materials. Don't like crafting? Too bad. Your equipment will wear out and *permanently* break, so you'd damn well better get used to grinding for materials.

Such a pity. I had high hopes for it, but now you can pretty much just stamp a big fat FAILURE on it and move on.

It's a sad day indeed when a family is too afraid of reprisals to publicly thank somebody for saving their lives.

While you have a point in that there is way too much focus on resource gathering, the game has a lot more going for it.

Various dynamic events, both solo-able and team, territory control, a somewhat complex crafting system, PVP, vehicle races...

So far, I don't believe the repair prices have been set (it's always 0 for me), but they only take Crystite, and you can get that without ever gathering resources. It will be much easier once there is a player-to-player market. So if this is the only thing that's stopping you from trying the game, don't let it.

    1) the only dynamic thing about most of the events in the game is the fact that they spawn in random places of the map . you will be doing the same event over and over with the same enemies , same objectives .

    2) complex crafting system . i agree with this , the crafting system is complex . on the other hand , this complex system offers 0    ( zero ) depth and customization . all battleframes are limited to only 1 primary weapon and thats it. the only thing you can do with the crafting system is simply use it to increse some stats on you equipment. so if you craft a new plasma cannon it will have some more dps or maybe more aoe , depending on the materials you use but in the end it will still be the same weapon . can you craft a different weapon for an accord assault other than a plasma cannon ? no you cant . can you craft anything that has a real impact on your gameplay ? nope. to be honest i consider this a major problem for Firefall . i dont care if its an mmo , fps or whatever else anyone wants to call it , at its core this game is a shooter . to offer so little variety in weapons and tactics is a terrible thing. sure you could say the game has 15 battleframes , each with their own weapons but lets take the assault class , 3 types of assaults :

firecat - plasma cannon , slower projectile speed , lower damage , increased aoe

accord assault - same plasma cannon , faster projectile speed , a bit more dmg and lower aoe

tigerclaw - same plasma cannon , the fastest projectile speed , even more dmg and almost no aoe

    3) pvp - not a good idea to mention this considering how broken it is. its broken up to the point where queue times can go over 60-70 min on EU servers . only 4 out of the 15 battleframes were used  in the last comunity tournament , that says a lot about the curent stat of pvp ( recons were replace with engineers , and everyone simply forgot about dreadnaughts ). not going to go into detail about the mess called pvp , so im just going to leave you with this , engineer is better at sniping people than a recon with a sniper rifle

    4) vehicle races - just a personal opinion but i dont consider traveling an activity . going from point A to point B is not a major atraction , considerig you only have 1 vehicle type , no goals along the way , just riding a bike ( with horrible controls )

    5) items *permanently* break . i personaly wouldnt have a problem with this IF the game had more variety and customization but thats not the case here , every time you plasma gun breakes you will be forced to craft the same gun again , and the next time and the next time...

how can people be ok with this ? crafting the same thing over and over just because the game "needs" an economy ( and thats the official reason why items break , to help the economy ). also , depending on the materials you use , you may end up with a worse weapon then the one you had before. permanet item loss ( just talking about firefall here , not other games ) is nothing more than a cheap way to cover up the lack of content they have  after so many years in development .

Anyone that played Defiance will realise Firefall has alot more going for it. So i don't know why people are suddenly complaining about being able to "create your own adventure" in a great looking open world , but they are all voting for Defiance which is a LINEAR quest grinder with a copy paste landscape that lacks inspiration. Some people really need some perspective around here.

Yes, Red 5 can probably do with some sort of overarching storyline or cohesiveness for the players that needs some rails, but there's already a ton more variety than Defiance. Not only the fact that you can craft and have like 10 battleframe aka "classes" to pick from, how many does Defiance have? One .
