I wonder if the armor included in the pic will be cash shop appearance gear lol. If they take the same route as EQ2 all the best looking gear will be. Please don't force us to buy stuff to look cool. I think every F2P MMO does this now, but you gotta throw us a bone and let some decent looking gear be from drops.

They have to make money and that is the best way to make serious $ wihout compromising your game.

Blizzard, SOE called they want 90% of the features in WOW you blatantly stole from EQ.
blizzard stole their features and bitch slapped them in the face
Not features so much, but direction. They took the direction EQ was moving and put it on steroids....I liked older EQ, LDoN+ not so much, so needless to say, I was not a huge fan of WoW... It was the direction of making things more 'accessible', 'dumbed down', or whatever you want to call it. They made it easy for the first time mmo players to jump into the game, where as EQ was made with more of a figure it out yourself attitude when it launched.
I hope they bring back some of the original feel, with some improved crafting/harvesting, as EQ wasn't that great for those features.
Well if they HAVE to release EQN to consoles as well then they better make separate user interfaces for the different types and not the traditional shithead style of having consoles interfaces ported over to PC. For example skyrim is an excellent example to show how bad a inventory can be when it's ported over from consoles.
They need to acknowledge the huge differences and utilize the BIG advantage of having 104 keys ready for you as you have with a keyboard and ofc having a mouse which is so much more usuable then a gamepad when it comes to precision.
So basically utilized the platforms full strenghts to the maximum.

Jousting shoulderpads there on one of the shoulder pads are large other one is small, usualy used in jousting to protect the neck from the side the jousting thingo cming from.

Can anyone tell what kind of "genre" that model is? By genre, i mean medievial, fantasy, sci-fi, etc. I can't really tell.
Here's hoping EQN turns out to be good. EQ2 was my first MMO, so i have a soft spot for the EQ universe, and even though EQ2 did a lot of things wrong, it actually did a lot of things right.

I would go to take this a step further, and let everyone see which type of system you are logging in from. So it could be taken into consideration when building groups.
Or force the use of a keyboard and mouse with the PS4. Just to make it more accessible to the people who don't have PCs.
I also hope that EQN will only be on PC, with a smaller mmorpg in the same "genre" on a console, like EQA. Why? Because it has already been said: It will be dumbed down, just so it can fit for the console!
I want a deep and rich mmorpg! I am so tired of the action style combat (GW2, DC Universe, TERA, etc), because even if it's good, it gets booring really fast. Heck, I would even say that WoW/EQ2 combat is even more fun, just because I have much more to do and it will take a lot of time before I can master it!
I am scared, that if EQN will come out on console, it will not become something great.....

Stop saying its coming out on ps4!!! Nowhere has that been said or verified!
Why does it even matter if its coming out on PS4 or not? Ps4 is more powerful than most people's computers anyway, and MMORPGs shouldnt be designed to have top end graphics. Aesthetics are far more important.
If a game comes to consoles it's gameplay will be limited by a controller. Some people like simple gameplay and that's not a problem, but others might dislike it, especially on a mmorpg which is supposed to have a long life cycle, simple gameplay can only be fun for so long, imo.
Personally I've seen so many games ruined because of consoles that I'm really careful to get excited if a game gets announced for consoles also. However those were for 360 and PS3, consoles that are very limited by their hardware, but it's not always just hardware related, often the gameplay is crap because it has to fit for controller.
PS4 and Xbox next really want to be next gen? Then release proper M+KB gaming support, then we can really start talking about the death of PC gaming since there's really no need for it, currently PC gaming is the only method for people like me who hates the controller overall, and likes RTS games also.
If EQN does release on both the PC and PS4, I seriously hope the interface controls aren't clunky or require a gamepad to be more fluid. Case in point: FFXI, FFXV, and Defiance. I like Defiance, but the interface is clearly designed for a controller and not keyboard-mouse. Same idea for the Final Fantasy games.
Sure, you can get give one type of player a leg-up on the others, but for christ's sake; don't shoehorn everyone into a controller. It's a quick way to lose some players.

MMOs only offer simple gameplay. I apologize if you think ANY mmo has been complex in the gameplay department but it's not the case.
In 95% of MMOs you use a handfull of abilities OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER and then use a couple others in unique circumstances. The main issue here is the lack of intuition when abilities are used. Is there any reason that for making a healer CHOOSE to use a resurrection spell on a dead body? Obviously if they're targeting a dead body and using an ability the ONLY thing they would be doing is ressing somebody! These types of things could easily be made more intuitive and automatic (and really would help make the game less discriminating between those horrible players and those that are in the top 10%).
The community (especially the 'sandbox community') complains when there's anything twitch or truly skill-based in an MMO but then claims that there's any degree of difficulty in them, which is truly hilarious. So make up your minds, do you want skill based or strategy based? Because while I do believe you can (and should) have both it hasn't been done to-date in an MMO. You get one or the other, and usually the only strategy involved in an MMO is balancing the idiots that can barely play their characters with the people carrying them.
Just because every car has similar features doesn't mean that Ferraris are copies of Model Ts. Progress requires failure and refining.

Every mmo has simple gameplay...tab target and repetitive hotbar mashing with static combat which is just boring, the only one that doesnt is EvE and thats because its sort of real time strategy in a way. By the way I play GW2 and Neverwinter with a PS3 gamepad. Im looking forward to Elder Scrolls Online because the gameplay is more like the single player series and not a traditional mmo.

The combat isn't the problem. It's the game design as a whole. MMOs are not really RPGs anymore, and if they are, they are very limited by design.
Most MMOs on the market right now are action-oriented in their design.
Questing, PvP, Dungeons, Raids, etc. All these aspects of MMOs are used with combat, instead of other forms of interaction.
If you want a rich Multi-Massively-Online-Virtual-World without combat as it's focus, there are always virtual worlds, such as Second Life or OpenSim. That's about sandbox as one can get, for maximum freedom using their editing tools.
So Smed's obsessed w/ cute anime figure's and my Little Pony, makes perfect sense now....
After how long this has been in production, then GW2 comes out and they pull it to completely retool the entire game.... and so on, this seems mediocre at best. Pretty sad teaser IMO. The poor lad pictured doesn't even have a buttocks and a tiny left arm that is closer to the camera - hope they can at least give him some big feet to make up for it :-P
