What's the big deal about this? If you don't like it, you don't have to buy it? Does it affect the PC version? Are you laughing because you're happy? Are you laughing in jest?

Yes it will, It'll be dumbed down to work with a controller.

Oh yes. It must be impossible to have 2 ways of options for controls on a game /eyeroll.
I don't see how this is a surprise. TES console numbers dwarfed the PC from what I've heard.

I'm not surprised either. It was almost like the devs were like should we release this on console and make money, or should we release this on pc for free?

It's not that It's impossible, It's that plenty of games have totally fucked it up in the past.
For example skyrims crappy console interface, that lucky PC players could mod out.

I'm not suggesting it will be good or terrible. I'm just confused on some of the extreme reactions some of the people have already been posting when they don't have all the information yet. It's just childish is all. Maybe it's going to be on the ps4 and it's going to be mandatory to use a USB keyboard and mouse? Who know's? My point is just that some people need to relax and try to understand a situation with the proper information instead of simply having knee-jerk reactions and possibly spreading misinformation or just outright lies. Just a pet peeve of mine :P.
Skyrim was designed on a console. It took about 20 seconds of actual game play to figure that out. It was actually the first PC game I have played since the mid 90s where you could not map your numpad keys....you had to use Autohotkey. Yes, they did that bad a job. The interface was the other horrible part of Skyrim that any PC user hated.
Of course, people play Bethesda games for the player mods and I can assure you that the bulk of Skyrim players now are PC users.
MMOs are played by PC people. There are console MMOs out there, like DC Online, but most people use their PC.
Maybe the PS4 can be good for a MMO but if you know Bethesda (or Zenimax) you can be sure they will mess many things up. I probably won't play this game, but I will read the forums and laugh...lol (just like that).

PC always gets screwed in cross platform. I vowed never again buy a "pc" title that was cross platform cause it always just really a console port casual fluff piece of trash.
Not to say multi-platform will make it less fun; it will make it widely accessible in fact - though, let's be honest with ourselves, console games are very restrictive. At best ESO will give people a multiplayer Skyrim with no mod support - We're all thinking it :P
This wasnt obvious or anything. The recent rebirth of PC gaming is on the merit of silly facebook games and kidde tablets and what not. The old school guys who still buy top of the line PC's because they just want to play the latest games on the highest graphics are a dying breed. Bury them in peanut m&m's, in 2 years you have a fossil fuel.
Consoles are bigger money makers, as the predictable comment about console ports show, developers target the audience on console, then shove the left overs at the pc gamers where possible.
Now that console tech has caught up to where persistent online worlds are a viable option for them, I foresee no impending end to these "LOL hahahaha" threads.
Just the reality of it. MMO's on PC are begging for players, they cant give them away. The ship has sailed.
The millions playing PC only MMO titles might disagree with you :P
But hey, maybe ESO will change everything... only time will tell
ESO will have its part to play in it. But if you think this "shocking revelation" of console MMO's is going to be limited to ESO, I'd say thats a little naive.
The point of an MMO is to make money, not to stay in service as long as possible by giving away the game and nickle and diming people to death. It may be a self sustainable industry, but being highly profitable, not so sure.
Consoles are highly profitable, which is why they can afford to advertise their games every 10 minutes on more than just obscure niche websites.
Wonder if it's going to be an ESO VS EQ Next match up..similar to EQ2 vs WoW. No info is known about EQ Next, I know, but I'd rather play a sandbox over a themepark ES game anyday. Could be interesting.

I'm neither a fanboy nor a hater. I am interested in following the title and hope it turns out to be, finally, a *good* modern MMO
That said, let's be honest. Ported UIs usually suck.
As long as they have two completely separate UIs, I don't see this being a problem. But IMO Skyrim's UI when it first released SUCKED, and you could easily tell it was made for consoles. Ugh.
Here's to hoping it *doesnt* have to be tweaked to cater to the Ps4 controls

You do realize that PS3 AND XBOX both have elder's scrolls on them right? I play both extensively and controller inputs are 10x faster if they have small amount of inputs. MMOs usually have a lot, usually; however, Elders scrolls works 10 times better (imo) on a controller than kb and mouse. Plus no more hunching over my computer desk and I always prop my feet up while playing on a 50 inch TV.. whaaaaaaaaa (o.0)

LOL the Wii doesnt have anywhere near enough power to run this game...

PS4 is only 400 bones and i think its great MMOS are going Multi.
Honestly you really thought an ES game would be PC only in todays age... never.

Its just capitalism.
