Final Fantasy versus 13 was supposed to be an action spin off game set in the same world as 13.  They rebranded it to 15.  Hopefully they don't keep the linearity that accompanied what they were first making before the whole rebranding.  Right now Im more hyped for this with its huge open world, Elder Scrolls/Fallout-like sidequests, and mmo-like party mechanics.

Kingdom Hearts on the other hand, I would buy a PS4 for.  And maybe a new Twisted Metal...

Are you joking? Look how boxed in that looks, Preset events on a liner path...

Where are the open worlds of old?

Gone. S-E has no interest in making games for those types of people anymore. I thank them though. Only worrying about FFXI and FFXIV:ARR has saved me money.

Seems a bit strange that "those people" make up a large percentage of the fan base.

I have to say, I really don't like the setting. I really miss the more medieval/steampunk settings of FF IV and VI. SE has completely deviated from the formula that made the original FF games great. I would actually be more excited if they had just made a new IP instead of just tagging it with Final Fantasy.

I have to say though, the Behemoth and Leviathan looked absolutely fantastic. The combat looked action packed and potentially fun. However, so much of it looked like the on-the-rails, linear progression style that FF has adopted the past few years.

Just wanted to add: FFXIV looks more like a true FF game than any of the single player games as of late.

I already miss the old setting.  On the positive side, it does look like the combat has improved.

Wow this looks awesome!!!  But man I really miss the steampunk style that FFs used to have.  Who the hell designed the blonde dude with the kilt though?

If WoW was released today even in its' entirety it would be f2p in 3 months.
Why is it still such a big deal?

Blonde dude with the kilt?   Lol, I thought that was a chick.   Big problem with these Asian games is sometimes it is hard to tell the two apart.

True, but it saves us money. I don't have to waste time checking on their games or buying them anymore. 12 and 13 just cemented that S-E has no interest in making games that I find interesting anymore. I thank them for all of the mainline games up to and including 10. I also thank them for XI and XIV:ARR.

If they want to appeal to twitch people that's fine. The series is theirs to do with what they want. There are still good RPG's to be had. Persona 4 Golden for instance I found to be better then anything S-E has put out in a very very long time.
