Trade Skill Extension

TheDarkrayneTheDarkrayne Member EpicPosts: 5,297

Anyone seen someone else do this in an MMO? Unlocks an extra trade skill slot up to a maximum of 9, the default is 3. That basically means that one character can have every trade skill if they pay up (or buy REX in game).

I kind of like it. I havn't bought anything yet.. but it's gotta be a plus for those that like crafting right? I've 20,000 store credit given as a bonus because I had a year sub, considering spending it on some of these.

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

On an individual level, that is probably good.

But it may have a disastrous hit on the economy.  It removes any interdependence or specialization among crafters.

Are you sure one character can have all 9 crafts active at once?  Or is it like GW2 where you can level all of them, but must pay to switch active ones?

Rithwis, Righteous Golem of Camelot | Skritha, Orc Archer of Tamriel | Bloodwod, Sawbones of Auraxis | Thrumdi, Blue Norn of Tyria | Gwidwod, Spider of the Ettenmoors | Gideon Slack, Hunter of Alsius

All it does is remove the annoyance of alt switching.  Not like there is much interdependence in Rift, its not like in VG where you need help from other crafts to build your boat.  Im hoping they added an in game plat cost to this too.

This is a feature I really like.  I was actually thinking about this the other day, not knowing it was coming in the patch.

More crafting skills would give me something to do for awhile since I don't really like working on alts.

i m not a big fan of cash shops, but RIFT's seems great. nice items, low gear, good prices. REX also is great (i m used to it from EvE). i think for the first time i m going to spent some in a cash shop :)

I haven't tried it yet but it looks like they will all be active and you can level them all up at once.

Got about 340 slots each on 6 characters... so, just over 2000? That'll be enough I think :P Not counting my personal guilds on two alt characters.
