Oh man, I really, really, really hate that. In Anarchy Online, a lvl 200 had the nerve to tell me (with my lvl 47 engi) when a RANDOM alien ship is beaming down aliens and that it is a PRIVATE AERA AND ASKING ME TO LEAVE. How pathetic do you have to be to tell that to a lvl 47 when your 200.

1. People just sending you party requests/trade request and you have no idea who they are. If you want to party at least talk to me first.

3. KS'ing/Drop stealing. This is very annoying. Sometimes you many kill something and not see another player, it happens. At least say Sorry or something to let them know your not a jerk.
Most of this has already been covered by others so thats all for me,
1) Boring running around. Why do game designers think that running around everywhere is fun? It isnt half of the time.
2) Non roleplayers. Why do people play ROLEPLAYING GAMES if they dont roleplay.
3) Developers who dont know how to design their code to counter hack's and dupes. I have not played a multiplayer game that didnt have cheaters.
4) Insanely long grinds with not many rewards in between except endless quests and new spells or abilities for every week of grinding. Not cool.
5) Games that dont have PvP. Why ruin a great game like EVerquest 2 because it doesnt have PvP. I would probably play it if it did.
6) Games like WoW that are NOTHING like the original franchise. Warcraft I was Awesome. Warcraft II was even better. Warcraft III Sucked with its lame graphics. WoW sucked even more then Warcraft III and thats bad.
7) Grouping. I dont play MMO's to always have to group. I am a soloist. I like to play in a MMO world where I can solo and fight other players. I DO NOT WANT TO GROUP.
8) Lag, I have a 5 MEG cable, there is no reason I should rubber band or lag. MMO's generally have unstable servers.
9) EXPANSIONS EXPANSIONS AND MORE EXPANSIONS. UMM HELLO! THE REASON I AM PAYING YOU 14.99$ A MONTH IS FOR YOU TO DEVELOP A GAME, NOT TO DEVELOP A GAME YOU ARE GOING TO CHARGE ME MORE MONEY FOR.

I am not sure you really fully mean all that. However to be under the obligation to group to achieve anything worth been done is lame and crude. You really want to have the OPTION to solo and PvP. However, even in your case, I feel you really like grouping folks, especially when you talk about roleplaying...to roleplay, you need to be with folks to facilitate it. I am pretty sure you want to group a lot, but to be under the obligation to group is not nice.

Then if a game can motivated you despite a lack of PvP, I would consider they make a great soloing system for me to be motivated to play while I am LFG!
The fact you will be enjoying the game would prolly frustrated a few of the most lamest groupers/raiders(you know, those that are more leeches then players), but not me. Althought I may try once per 2 month to check if you would not want to give groups a try!
So many peoples out there always think in an exclusive way, trying to cater only 1 group(often the meaniest) and after that they complain that the pigs they feed shit on their patio(hell-o Afterlife).

I hate when one of their designers comes out and tries to openly defend it. Saying things like "We made EQ2 this way because we wanted to put the focus of the game on grouping".

Wing Commander. Now that was a good game, I actually was a Terran fighter pilot. It enveloped my life. I really knew the story inside and out, and I really was my character.
Cant say that for EQ2, EQ, Eve, WoW, DAOC, Lineage2, Planetside, SWG or any other MMO. They have sucked.
Eve Online was the best game, but that isnt saying much.
I live in the US. I have certain freedoms. In the US I can go out in my car and go for a solo drive if I want. I can achieve great wealth and personal achievment in the US as an individual. There is no limit to what I can achieve.
Now if I lived in a full blown socialist country then maybe a "grouping only" game would be normal. I dont live in a full blown socialist country. I live in a capitalist country. Being forced to group to achieve my individual goals in a game is not my idea what a world simulation should be.
But on the positive, all of the crappy video games I have played in the last 5 years has made me pursue the goal of making my own game.
This website is a sad joke really. All of the talent in the world and these crappy games are the best we canc ome up with. Its pitiful.
Maybe everyone is out humping each other,... who knows.

People who dont know the difference between gank and PvP, "wanna gank?" is a common question when invited to a duel in WoW, or using Gank as a word for killing anything in any way. ( also the kids, a LOT )

"Fish Bot Police" Ala FFXI...I never fished with a bot..never saw the need..however this group of people singlehandedly pissed me off in that game more then any group of people ever has. Hell I would rather listen to a 13y/o with a "F" in Grammer, English and spelling rant in OOC in l33t speak all blasted day then ever deal with this group again. There was nothing more irritating then getting a Tell from the "Bot Police" Every fricking 5 minutes asking if Im botting..and Grilling me to see if I repeat myself, and reporting me 2 to 3 times a day forcing me to converse with a GM, just because My character enjoyed fishing..Or of course reporting me when I invariably told them explictly what I thought they should do with their mouse and keyboard, because they have harassed me for the past 4 hours.
People who whine about coinsellers, without casting an equally critical eye on those that buy it. This hypocritical bunch rates pretty damn high on my moron list as well. I lost count of the number of people I have encountered who will blast those who sell coin on a forum and ingame like they have committed blasphemy, yet I have watched them turn around and Buy it. Of course the ones that their argument boils down to"its not fair", or some other loosly justified and pedantic moral reason grate me just as much. I dispise either group, mostly because in one way or another they are hypocrits. You either Support it fully, are nuetral about it, or are against it..If your against it you better be actively avoiding grouping with those who purchase, guilding or otherwise supporting anyone who buys. Otherwise..shut up, quit whining and come to the realization that dispite the fact that we dont like it, its here to stay. I had to work to get what i have so EARN IT! don't just ask for something play the game get your own stuff! The other thing is ppl who just fly off the handle at any little thing. GET A LIFE!!

1. People who believe they need to cheat in a multiplayer game and defend themselves saying it's not cheating. This includes but is not limited to : buying/selling items out of the ingames' systems, botting, using real life friendships to advance faster, metagaming, bug abusing.
2. Those that play an mmorpg as a levelgrind and tell me they're "bored". You will often see them whine because they can not hunt in the highest dungeon accesible and just wait for hours as they turn down hunts in a dungeon two levels below.
3. "The PK attitude", I call it like this because it concerns about 80% of those that love pvp combat in mmorpgs. It's them kids that think nothing in the world is better then to grief another person in an area where pk is activated just because they can.
The list goes on and on, but we have to live with the flaws of the games we play. It mostly concerns people that are forcing the mmorpg genre in a direction it wasn't meant to go in and make the rp in those games disappear.

The only time grouping is warranted is in PvP when you are outnumbered you need allies.
But then you have an unbalanced game of whoever has the most allies or most players in a group will always win.

What annoys me most...
1. People who believe they need to cheat in a multiplayer game and defend themselves saying it's not cheating. This includes but is not limited to : buying/selling items out of the ingames' systems, botting, using real life friendships to advance faster, metagaming, bug abusing.
2. Those that play an mmorpg as a levelgrind and tell me they're "bored". You will often see them whine because they can not hunt in the highest dungeon accesible and just wait for hours as they turn down hunts in a dungeon two levels below.
3. "The PK attitude", I call it like this because it concerns about 80% of those that love pvp combat in mmorpgs. It's them kids that think nothing in the world is better then to grief another person in an area where pk is activated just because they can.
The list goes on and on, but we have to live with the flaws of the games we play. It mostly concerns people that are forcing the mmorpg genre in a direction it wasn't meant to go in and make the rp in those games disappear.

~Getting random group invites
~Kill stealers
~Ninja Looters
~Beggers that ask me 100 times for money
~Dieing because healer wasnt paying attention!!
