Probably but you most likely will not be on the same servers as PC player. They usually separate PC and Console players servers because Console players don't get to use Mouse and keyboard so the PC players don't get an advantage.
Planetside 2 will be on PS4 so there is no reason why EQNEXT will not be being they are the same Forgelight engine.
Either way though, still getting the PC version.
Since when? My ps2 has a mouse and keyboard. My ps3 has a mouse and keyboard. The ps4 has been confirmed to have the option for mouse and keyboard as well. My pc has a gamepad hooked to it. Where is this mystical input device advantage I always hear about between pc and console?
Cheers!
MMO Vet since AOL Neverwinter Nights circa 1992. My MMO beat up your MMO. =S
Sony is the only one that really cares to give gamers and developers these types of options.
That isn't true.
This is only the case in FPS games because the mouse is more precise for aiming.
But in an MMORPG, a controller is just as good for combat. And in some cases like action combat(dc universe online, tera, neverwinter, etc.), the controller is probably a little better.
They would all be on the same server IMO same as FFXIV will be.
GAME TIL YOU DIE!!!!
But will the PS4 poll your mouse and keyboard every 8 ms the way that Windows will? (Actually, it probably will.)
More seriously, one big disadvantage to most consoles is that they tend to be attached to televisions with horrible display latency, while PCs tend to be attached to monitors with much lower display latencies of < 10 ms. While you can get high latency monitors for a PC or hook up a console to a low latency computer monitor, those are done infrequently enough that that alone will tend to make PCs look better than consoles in empirical data that tests player skill on the different platforms.
If the game has twitch combat than it is better on gamepad as games like ninja gaiden and devil may cry shows

I have played every MMO that has ever come out.
True enough, mouse and keyboard combo's only really give an advantage in FPS games, where speed and precision are an issue, and probably to some degree third person shooters. Which is probably why FF XI is multi platform with no segregation, as the only disadvantage console players suffer, is in terms of communication, where having a keyboard is a necessity. Its very difficult to chat in MMO's if your limited to a gamepad, and voice comms in mmorpg's are only really viable in raids/dungeons, and even then they can be immersion breaking so most tend to not use, of course if there was some way of converting speech to text in game client, that would be useful...
Better for you and your personal taste maybe, I prefer my twitch based games to be played with keyboard and mouse as they allow for much higher accuracy and precision than a gamepad. I prefer using these ...

Twitch is a broad term to describe quite a few genres. FPS/RTS favors mouse/kb, fighting games favor arcade sticks, action/adventure/platformers favor gamepads, racing games favor steering wheels, the list goes on.
In shooter games yes but for hack and slash like Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden style games and Fighting Games trying to move around quick and dodging using the left stick has got an advantage over wasd and you gotta do quick button combos too to pull of techniques in a split second and at the same time pull them off in a consecutive manner.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3IDRFybHZA you cant possibly say you would be comfortable trying to do all that with a keyboard and mouse, theres no hotbar to do all those moves
I'm using a smart TV connected to my PC, have been for about a year now, 3 thing I've noticed.
1. My smart TV is 50 inches in size compared to my old 27 inch monitor, and everything looks fantastic on it compared with my monitor.
2. My smart TV appears to offer better colour and depth perception than my old monitor.
3. My smat TV was alot cheaper than buying a larger monitor.
As for the latency I haven't noticed any real term difference, I don't play twitch based games and EQN will probably not just cater to PvP players, so I'm probably safe to assume I'l still be doing similar PvE things that won't require speed of light reactions (as if 10ms would make a blind bit of difference to a poor PvP player anyway)
If EQN does end up on the PS4 and I do hope it will, I will be hooking it up to my TV and putting the PC away, I will be buying the keyboard and mouse attachments that all other Playstations have had before and I do hope that they conbine servers, though it really won't make much difference to me if they don't, player ages in both the PC market and the console market are the same (I'm 44 and own both a PC and console), so there is never a guarantee I will be playing amongst mature players in a PC or console game.
I agree, i have my old pc set up on my Samsung 55inch Smart TV, it has motion and voice control and my games look fantastic, especially playing Sins Of A Solar Empire Rebellion.
Can't wait for Dawn Of The Reaper mass effect mod in a couple of weeks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgo4HtvKb7I
The Witcher 3 looks great as well and this is on my old set up with i7 2700k - 6970 xfire-8gig. Only thing is my TV cost alot more than an expensive monitor, 2600 euros but worth every penny.
If they segregate PC and consoles then I would imagine that it will be not because of advantage but more on coding and whatnot or whatever. Like the XBox has their chat system and profiles n yada yada yada which I assume that is the same case with the Playstation that will be out of sync with PCs or optimized performance issues. Then there is the communication factor. The vast majority of MMO gamers use a 3rd party chat system which I don't know if they can be ported to consoles, especially since at least with the XBox they have their own chat system.
ESO which uses a single server technology will be segregating the PC/Mac from the consoles and even the consoles will be segregated.
When it comes to coding all of them uses x86 architecture
