in EverQuest Next

Is this EQ3 ?

 

Just need a confirmation , cuss the homepage doesnt say amd EQN seems a bit foolish name

Intel I7 4770K 3,5 ghz
16Gb RAM 1600 mhz
Nvidia GTX 780

    its the third everquest mmo, yes.

    LFD tools are great for cramming people into content, but quality > quantity.
    I am, usually on the sandbox .. more "hardcore" side of things, but I also do just want to have fun. So lighten up already :)

    Could be, then again it might not in the sense that they might take a whole different direction.  Until Aug 2nd or whenever the release real info on the game I wouldn't make any assumptions that this will be an EQ3.  There might be a reason why they aren't calling it EQ3.  People learned that that hard way with Neverwinter.

    No, this is not EQ3. It's not meant to replace EQ1/EQ2 nor cater to the players of those games. Everquest Next is the official name.

    yea a vague generalization. the next guy goes on to talk about corpse runs. it's the next eq .. which means its going to be eq. its not going the be exactly like eq 2 just like eq 2 was not exactly like eq1 .. but it's not going to be something vastly different as of yet either.

    we know very little. his question was: is this the 3rd everquest game ... and you answer with hyperbole based on an extremly "lawyer speak" video. its everquest 3. that doesn't mean it is everquest 1 with new graphics and it doesnt mean it's everquest 2 with new graphics .. it means its the third release of a series of games called everquest. its just called everquest next instead of new coke 2 .. i mean eq3.

    this is all likely to change .. it may end up being more like battlestar galactica online for all we know at this point ..

    As I mentioned, I can't remember where the Dave Georgeson statement came from, which is the better source, and I'm not going to look for it.

    Just to be fair, Planetside 2 was initially called Planetside Next... Now look at it's name.

    The difference being that Everquest Next was recently announced as the official name by Dave Georgeson on his Twitter account.

    Saw it posted somewhere that it isn't a direct sequel but a "reimagining" of the game world.  Probably because there is so much damn lore and a lot of it is convoluted and contradictory they just kind of want a fresh start on it in a way.

    Probably going to be Everquest Adventures 2 which would be disapointing.

    But yeah, Its the 3rd game in the EQ Franchise, but it doesn't have to be called EQ3. They could call it "Fippy Darkpaws' Amazing Norathian Adventure" if they wanted.
