does pre-ordering get you into beta?

Also, is beta going right now, or are they just opening it sometimes for weekends or something? Thanks

    Preordering will get you a Beta 4 (open beta) invite.

    Any graphical, audio, or gameplay restrictions not seen in other mmos but found in FFXIV can be blamed on one thing.

    Sometimes for weekends, next week will probably be the last for about a month while they prepare for Open Beta.

    No, preorder gets you into early access which is an extra 8 days before release date. Everyone is invited to Open Beta but while they dont plan to delete character data, they warn that they will if they have to.

    So does that mean character data may carry over to launch?

    Yes if it doesnt et deleted in Open Beta it will carry over to launch.

    so if you buy/preorder it can you start playing immediately? we dont know WTF beta 4 means.

    A friend of mine pre-order the game. It will NOT get you beta access. Open Beta will be just that, Open to everyone. Phase 4 is Open Beta.

    Pre-ordering gets you early access once the game is released and 2 in game items, but they don't even let us enter our pre-order codes yet.

    Beta only goes on 3 days each weekend anyway. You can't play it during the week.
