As we know, Curse is partnered or helping with EQNext or however you want to word it. They showed The Curse Guy EQNext at E3, he spoke about the game and how they are working together with the SOE guys they had at that panel at E3.
Now, when I think of Curse, besides their competitive gaming team, I think of the Curse Client, mainly WoW. About all the various addons you can download and it puts them in the right folder for you, and then you play the game with the addons you want.
I haven't seen many people talk about this, but what exact type of addons (If any, but I feel like Curse working with SOE on EQNext is going to help them make addons relatively early on in the games lifetime) would we see? Just your typical WoW addons?

Addons are a distinct possibility. EQ and EQ2 have them, albeit they are pretty limited. RIFT addons and hosted by Curse so are Skyrim mods and ESO is going to allow UI customization. I just hope I can move and resize everything and dont need addons to get a clean UI look.
I think, hope, that maybe they are going to work on some marketing for EQN and perhaps STEAM release will be forthcoming. EVE has integrated STEAM into their login system, it is pretty smooth.
EQ doesn't have addons.
The only form of addon EQ has is a few DPS meters that read the log file, and they're not running inside the EQ client, they're running completely seperate reading a text file.
EQ has more than dps meters but I forget the variety

They're UI though, I don't consider them to be add-ons, although your're welcome to disagree.
But true add-ons like you find in other games, that show specific data or quest info or anything out of a UI change, EQ doesn't have.
EQ has also never supported add-ons. Even the UI broke on every other patch.
Even the DPS meter, it's actually not integrated in EQ, it's a completely seperate program that aggregates data from the .txt log file and uses an overlay that doesn't run in the EQ client but in a seperate program. The log file was never meant to be used to measure DPS either, I believe it was meant for debugging and temporary data storage.

I for one am hoping for a very strong client side API to enable addons/scripts.
we've heard from TTH offering some promotion during SOE Reveal Friday
we've heard from ZAM's Cyliena

Exactly my feeling. I absolutely hated WoW's UI freedom because of how it directly affected gameplay.
