I would have prefered photorealism, but they did a horrible job of it on early EQ2. Even now, EQ2 character creation seems a little off compared to other character creation systems.

The main problem with it is that photo realism tends to age horribly as technology advances.
OMG I hope that is a faked picture as it looks like a cross between wow and warhammer. I sure don't want my kerra looking like that. And the person said it did not look cartoon like ahem yes it does.
Yeah it looks very catoony and if you look at that other screenshot of a male, the armour looks a bit cartoony when you compare it to Vanguards character and armour.

Yes and I am glad they scrapped that. That is from 2010 fanfaire and we know right after that the got suck a kick in the gut they scrapped the game and started over. Give it a month for SOE live and maybe we will see the new stuff.
I truly hope that you are correct and that this "thing" will not make it to the final product. If EQN does not work out for me, it may be the last time i play a MMORPG. Iv had enough.

All of his works for Everquest were masterpieces really.
People will be extremely unforgiving if the artwork of EQ isn't excellent because Keith set such a high standard.

i can tell you this. If EQN looks anything like GW2/TERA/WildStar/WoW or this mob in this pic, they will NOT get any of my money.

SoE tends to hire either awful artists or amazing ones, never in between.
Many of the EQ art is great, but there's also stuff that is horrible, like the drakkin models that run like they have a broomstick up their behind.

You can't really tell from that screenshot at all, if anything it looks a bit similar when you actually look at the armour.
That character looks more cartoony than Vanguard characters.
Vanguard models actually look pretty good
that last one of the girl in shiny armor is doctored somehow.. i played VG on max settings for 2 yrs and NEVER saw anything resembling that.
