If I have to pick one. Deep, immersive, amazingly open world. I could fly with the levitate spell and the Boots of Blinding Speed, along with high magic resist (as a Breton) and I could retain my sight. And robbing the vaults in Vivec! So many amazing discoveries in Morrowind. And the regions were quite different compared to later TES offerings: Telvanni, Redoran, Hlalu areas. And you could replay the game through following the questlines of those various great houses and many other factions.
Okay, the combat was...not the best, but with all the other stuff, I could care less. That only bothered me for the first hour of play till I got used to it. After that, I must have gotten at least 200 hours of play out of it.
Originally posted by Rzep No such thing as all time favorite anything for me. Not games, not books, not music, not movies. I may think that the best album of the past decade was Communion by Septic Flesh or Pursuit of the Sun and the Allure of the Earth by Woods of Ypres, but that will change. Nothing is constant. Tastes change, memories begin to appear smugged by rose tinted nostalgia. There are games I remember fondly like No One Lives Forever, KKnD, WoW, the new Tomb Raider, but I couldn't call any of them an all time best.
Thats maybe half true, but you can't deny that there is always one game that even tho you maybe played others even more it always have that feel of your first love or remember how awesome it was at the time.
I HAVE THIS WITH MMORPG and with SOLO RPG.
MMO for me that always have this special feeling for me is Asheron's call 2(mainly becouse of Darktide) and for solo game its Elder Scroll's III:Morrowind.
I'll prolly never play morrowind anymore but it will always have that special place in my heart.
Ive prolly played Darkfall more then AC2 and played Skyrim more then Morrowind but still those two some how i always remember as special, which i don't get from Darkfall or Skyrim(MOD wise Skyrim wins for me but game Morrowind.)
Offcorse this is not the same for everyone, where after all unique and diverse if it comes to feelings and taste.
Hope to build full AMD system RYZEN/VEGA/AM4!!!
MB:Asus V De Luxe z77 CPU:Intell Icore7 3770k GPU: AMD Fury X(waiting for BIG VEGA 10 or 11 HBM2?(bit unclear now)) MEMORY:Corsair PLAT.DDR3 1866MHZ 16GB PSU:Corsair AX1200i OS:Windows 10 64bit
Very immersive. Awesome seamless huge world which is scary and beautiful simultaneously. Very strong sense of satisfaction when you achieve something since it is so tough. Lots of exploration and figuring things out.
Homeworld and Carmaggedon are the ones I'd want to have back....for entirely different reasons.
But I'll take any of the 80s arcades...I've got my roll of quarters ready, should someone decide to reopen Aladdin's Castle.
Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.
