What makes a good MMORPG?

I want to know what everyone thinks makes a good MMORPG.
I think that one of the most important things in a MMORPG is, for lack of a better work, replayable. I mean that a MMORPG shouldn't get stale. There should always be more than just one or two things you can do. I've noticed in alot of MMORPGs I've played that far too much emphasis is placed on leveling up. It can get pretty boring always leveling up. I like MMORPGs that don't glorify any one way of playing. I like MMORPGs that have plenty of things to do once you've gotten tired of leveling. MMORPGs where you just level all the time get rather boring after a few days of playing.
Another thing a MMORPG needs is a good community. I know you can't really control how a community is, but games with nicer communitys tend to be a bit more fun. I think games that put less emphasis on leveling and becomeing the best and put more emphasis on teamwork and social things have much better communitys, and are much more fun.

I think there should be 4 main classes, warrior, mage, archer, and theif, like in maplestory. Big worlds are very nice and help out with the game. A pet system makes it much more interesting. Having unlimited magic and arrows would probally make the game funner ( to me it would at least). Having many various weapons and clothing to chose from. This is what I like in a rpg.

So many people play MMORPGs, when they dont even like the idea of an MMORPG. They complain of groups of people who are bad, etc. They complain about not being able to solo at times, they complain about difficulty..They complain about downtimes, monthly cost, expansions, unbalanced charactors, power levelers...All this is a given in ANY mmorpg.

    1. If something isnt difficult, it doesnt last.
    2. If you want to solo, take the MMO part out of your next Google.
    3. Bad community? Any community will have bad parts to it, its a rule of life. This includes cheaters and hackers.
    4. Dont like downtime, updates, resets, rollbacks, monthly fee's...Dont play online..

Nothing is perfect in consistency, and thats what an MMORPG is, a consistent world...take it offline please.

    1. The ability to have fun solo.
    2. Lots of choices for customizing your character's looks.
    3. Lots of choices for customizing your character's abilities.
    4. Silly, fluffy stuff with a sense of humor.
    5. Long advancement system where you can play for years of advancement.
    6. Big inventory.
    7. Lots of customizability in the crafting system, and a large number of craftable things.
    8. Housing with spacious inventory.
    9. 3rd party apps for changing or expanding your interface and aiding in various tasks.
    10. PvP where dieing is very painful, so that winning a fight actually means something. Like losing skills, spells or items, for example.

Asheron's Call pretty much has all that, and it's why it's my favorite game.

Responsive Dev team that doesnt treat its users with scorn and contempt.

Grouping is is the games primary avenue but allows soloing possibilty to those who want it.

A fairly involving crafting system but inclusive enough for people to start even in the later stages of the game.

Housing and personal belongings of some sort.

PvP IF balanced properly and well thought out.

Few to no time sinks, including portable transportation.

No uber loot, but good loot that anyone who plays regularly can achieve.

Varied professions, including being able to mix professions or for a first allow people to pick skills from a common pool so anyone can create a custom character.

Rich storyline and involving persistant world.

Voice chat being available inside the MMO system and not needing a third party.

    IQ EQ player filter

Sure plenty more is needed, but this is a start.
