What would you like to see in EQN?
I'd like to modify #3 saying that you can setup your character in offline-mode to make some NPC merchant. You don't have to be on forever.

I voted broker because I'm not trying to spend all day looking for a semi-rare item while sitting in EC tunnel...I also don't want to run around the bazaar trying to find a merchant...i also do not like to bid for items. If i see it for a price, I will buy it. I like efficiency when I'm purchasing items. Thoughts?
Guess it depends on what the game is like.
I enjoy the way SWG/Eve Online did/do it. where you can see what everyone is selling and you just have to go pick it up there if you want it. But it depends on what kind of game it is if something like that works.
I hate any system that allows people to sell stuff without a buyout price. I don't like the individual broker style selling systems since it's horrifically inconvenient for both sellers and buyers (when I briefly tried Aion recently the chat spam from players parked to sell was very annoying).
Systems that allow an initial bid AND a buyout work fine - but if there's no buyout, it makes me insane. Plus, I'm an AH whore. I get rich in EVERY MMO I play going back to EQLive. I know markets better than most. If you list your crap at some stupidly low price the only thing you accomplish is to sell stuff for way less, since some sniper like me will bid to make sure you can't yank the item (most games won't let you remove listings once it's been bid on) and then a few me's will bid on the stuff just before it expires to get it for next to nothing. Then we relist the stuff at 10x the value and make a huge profit, because 99.9% of MMO players do not ever want to bid on things or wait for things, they want stuff NOW, immediately, instantly. I promise you this. It's a fundamental law of MMO economy that earns me tons of money in every MMO I play (the fact that most players have zero patience and will overpay NOW rather than gather, craft, find a crafter, or wait in any way).
The last thing I ever want to experience in an MMORPG is garbage like EC tunnel or subway (AC) style selling. That's just primitive cave man junk for games that haven't fully evolved. Spam is bad. Wasted time is bad. Just say no to anything like this.
So, I want some kind of AH with mandatory buyout prices. Keep it simple. Stick with what is best for both buyers and sellers.
I would also like to see any player who posts items for buy/sell in public chat (unless it's a specific trade chat) banned for hours/days/account deleted eventually. I hate spammers. Sell your trivial junk in the AH and stfu. They can ban guild spammers with their annoying walls of text while they're at it.
To assist with spam I don't want to see reliance on other players for service type things. It's dandy if your friends or guildies help you out but for average joe public, it's not fun looking for an enchanter for this or a whatever for that. Make ALL crafted items self contained and portable. Like the runes in Rift for enchants, or scrolls, or something to contain crafted goods that's portable and sellable without spam and hassle. Also, as someone who always crafts, I'm so jaded now that I don't want to help people because most people have zero appreciation for your time and effort and tip like they want to rob you, so, make the stuff sellable so sellers can establish a price and not have to rely on cheap losers who don't tip work a crap.
Premium MMORPGs do not feature built-in cheating via cash for gold pay 2 win. PLAY to win or don't play.
I thought i'd forget some stuff =/ I put other for them though!
