I personally don't want them, but I think there will be heritage quests. EQ2 was set hundreds of years after EQ1, so it made sense to me to have them. Whereas EQN is supposed to be a re-imagining.
considering EQN will be a parallel universe, I do not think we will see EQ2-esq HQs. I am pretty sure we will see some sort of Easter Eggs, or maybe even through rare harvests/quests/bosses be able to craft Dwarven Work Boots or CoCS type items. But who knows Lord Nagafen my drop a Rusty Short Sword. lol
I think there will be easter eggs and some mix from EQ1 but not in the form of HQs. It's set in a parallel universe so they can't do HQs in the same sense. I'm sure we'll see the fungi tunic somewhere though
Right, I don't think they will be "Heritage" quests, but lengthy and well thought out hopefully a puzzle of sorts to go with them. I find it to be one of the more awesome forms of questing, compared to the kill x rats.
I hope that the storylines are well thought out and intense, keeping you sucked into the journey.
Originally posted by donpopuki Perhaps not the name "Heritage" quests but the structure of the quests. Lengthy and complex quests, yeah I'm all for that.
THIS!!!! Really miss the qiant quest chains from eq2
Heritage type quests for gear or items or even titles would be cool but please no exp from quests.
Would also like to see some type of complex mission once a month that has to be finished in that month and will be unique and never repeatable. So we will get items in game that are worth trading again. Epic quests and I don't mean just weapons but maybe nine different epic quests for every equipment slot which are class specific and huge difficulty and bring new effects and another reason to be proud of your char.
whatever type of quests there is I hope none of them give out much exp if any.

Probaly see a return of the epic weapon quests i reckon from EQ1

I'm pretty sure that some old classics from EQ are going to slip into the game in some way or another.
I have no doubt that items like the FBSS, Cloak of Flames and fishbone earring are going to make it into the game in some form or another.
Legends of Kesmai, UO, EQ, AO, DAoC, AC, SB, RO, SWG, EVE, EQ2, CoH, GW, VG:SOH, WAR, Aion, DF, CO, MO, DN, Tera, SWTOR, RO2, DP, GW2, PS2, BnS, NW, FF:XIV, ESO, EQ:NL
4 things from EQ2 I personally would love to see in EQN
1) Skillbooks, I loved finding these to get various upgrades on skills
2) Legends and Lore, cleverly designed kill quests, friends and I would hunt specific mobs for hours just to get everyone completed.
3) Heritage Quests, at least some sort of epic quest, that takes you days, or weeks to complete
4) Random Zone bosses that you could make a game to hunt down in each area.dungeon
This ^^
